'Godly example of a great marriage!' George Strait's rare photo with wife Norma on 52nd wedding anniversary melts fans' hearts

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Country music singer George Strait, 71, recently posted a rare photo with his wife Norma, 67, on the occasion of their 52nd wedding anniversary.

On Monday, December 4, Strait took to his Instagram account and captioned the post, “Join us in sending George and Norma some love on their anniversary today! #HappyAnniversary.”

Strait's Instagram post showcased the stunningly gorgeous couple – both smiling wide with their arms around each other. 

Decked in formal wear, Strait and Norma appeared as if they had attended a red carpet-event or another award ceremony when the photo was snapped.

Strait's post quickly attracted thousands of likes and several comments as one fan shared, “Happy Anniversary & many more!”

The second fan commented, “Happy Anniversary to such an amazing couple.”

The third one wrote, “BEAUTIFUL COUPLE.” The fourth one said, “Happy Anniversary to a BEAUTIFUL couple!!! May God bless you with MANY more years of Love and Happiness!”

A person wished the couple, saying, “Happy anniversary to a wonderful couple!!!” Another one sweetly added, “Happy Anniversary! Thank you for being a Godly example of a great marriage.”

George Strait opens up about his retirement

This comes more than a decade later when the 71-year-old country music singer announced his retirement from touring.

At the time in an interview with People, he said, “Well, you know I’m 60 now, and in two years I’ll be eligible for Social Security, so the timing seems right.”

The music producer also stated, “I lost a lot of sleep thinking about it,” before mentioning, “It was a hard decision to make, it really was. I had second thoughts about it and third thoughts.”

“Walking up onstage is still so much fun for me. Such a thrill. That minute when you come out onto the stage and the fans are there, it’s so exciting. There’s nothing like it. I’ll miss that,” he shared.

Strait, however, added, “But the traveling has always been kind of a pain. It’s the bus, then a hotel, then the venue, then the bus again. You don’t see anything but the inside of those places.”

George Strait feels blessed to have wife Norma Strait 

In the same interview, the father-of-two also spoke about his marriage to Norma.

He said, “Norma and I are so blessed that we found each other 41 years ago and were able to do all of this together, experience this life together, to support each other through everything, good times and bad.”

Strait claimed, “We do almost everything together. She stayed home until Bubba got out of high school and went to college, but since then she’s come on the road with me too. We love each other and we still like each other. A lot!”
