George W Bush snubs Melania Trump as he gives White House event honoring his late mother Barbara a miss

WASHINGTON, DC: Former President George W Bush has apparently snubbed first lady Melania Trump after declining to attend a ceremony hosted by her in the White House to honor the late Barbara Bush.
The former POTUS will miss the Thursday, May 7 event at the White House's East Room - the unveiling of a US Postal Service stamp dedicated to his late mother, two unnamed officials informed The Washington Post.

Bush's younger sister, Dorothy Bush Koch, is listed by Trump’s office as one of many featured speakers at the Thursday event.
Similarly, Alice Yates, the chief executive of the George and Barbara Bush Foundation, will also be present for the event, per the outlet.
Interestingly, Bush attended both of President Donald Trump’s inaugurations. However, he did not endorse Trump in his three presidential runs.

During a 2021 event that marked two decades of the 9/11 attack, the 43rd President said that "so much of our politics has become a naked appeal to anger, fear, and resentment."
Interestingly, Trump took those comments as a jibe towards him and later said in a statement that Bush "led a failed and uninspiring presidency" and that he "shouldn’t be lecturing anybody!"
Moreover, the Trump and Bush families do not get along well.

In the 2019 book 'The Matriarch: Barbara Bush and the Making of a Dynasty', Barbara Bush called Trump "a symbol of greed".
Furthermore, the book also revealed that months before Barbara died in 2018, the former first lady said that she no longer considered herself a Republican despite being one of the party’s most recognizable faces over the years.
Additionally, in 2019, Trump said while referring to former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, "I have heard that she was nasty to me, but she should be. Look what I did to her sons."
Trump added, "Look, she’s the mother of somebody that I competed against. Most people thought he was going to win, and he was quickly out. I hit him very hard in South Carolina."
Handpicked secret team works on major transformation for Melania Trump
White House insiders revealed to the Daily Mail that a handpicked secret team is working on a major transformation for Melania Trump.
The first lady's trusted crew includes a Hollywood director, an architect, a fashion guru, and an interior designer, along with a whisper-quiet sister, a father, and a media agent with an even longer resume, per the outlet.

Melania's wardrobe is being looked at by fashion designer Herve Pierre. Wherever she goes, Pierre isn't far behind — usually with a garment bag in one hand. The 59-year-old has been Melania’s fashion consigliere since 2017, and he's the architect of her second-term wardrobe.
Film director Brett Ratner is also in Melania's trusted crew, and who is now producing an Amazon Prime documentary about Melania.

Moreover, he’s living at Mar-a-Lago and serving as executive producer, as insiders call it an "unprecedented" access.
Others from the Melania team are Tham Kannalikham, Marc Beckman, Steven Spandle, Regine Mahaux, John Rogers, Viktor Knavs, and Ines Knauss.
