WASHINGTON, DC: Jenna Bush Hager and Barbara Bush, daughters of former president George W Bush, have revealed that the White House may be haunted.

In a conversation with People, the twin sisters, both 43, recalled eerie encounters they had while living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue during their father’s presidency from 2001 to 2009.

Sparking a playful but spine-chilling exchange between the siblings, Barbara admitted, “Well, there are ghosts in the White House.”

Jenna, who was in college at the time, recounted an unsettling night when she awoke to the sound of opera music coming from her fireplace.

“I could feel it! I honestly had chills,” she recalled.

Startled, she ran into Barbara’s room and jumped into bed with her, convinced that they were not alone.

Barbara, initially skeptical, dismissed Jenna’s fears and insisted that there were no ghosts, but her doubts would soon be erased.

Just two nights later, while sleeping in Jenna’s room, Barbara had her own ghostly experience.

“We were dozing off, and then we heard olden times jazz music coming out of the fireplace again,” she shared.

The sisters, terrified, contemplated running to their parents’ room but decided against it, as they were already 22 years old.

Barbara laughingly shared, "We wanted to get in bed with our parents, but we were 22 and it felt inappropriate."

Desperate for a rational explanation, they humorously attributed the eerie sounds to their cat, Willard, imagining him playing jazz music on the piano.

But their theory was soon debunked.

The next morning, Jenna, who had to leave early for an internship, checked the piano where she had assumed Willard could have played the music.

To her shock, the piano keys were covered, eliminating any chance that the cat was responsible.

Shaken, she shared her experience with a White House staffer named Buddy.

"There was a man who we love — who I talked to recently — Buddy, who worked at the White House. And [that morning] I said, 'Buddy, you would not believe what happened,'" said Jenna.

Buddy's response was an ominous remark, “Jenna, you wouldn’t believe what I’ve heard.”

Reflecting on their experiences, Barbara concluded that they were not the only ones who had heard strange sounds in the historic residence.

“There [are] ghosts,” she said, adding, “There’s a lot of people that have lived in the White House, and I think there’s some unfinished business with someone that likes music!”
