TYRONE, GEORGIA: Kinaya Willis, the 25-year-old daughter of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, was arrested in Tyrone for driving with a suspended license on August 24, reported the Daily Mail.

The arrest comes as a fresh blow to Fani Willis, who spearheaded a criminal election interference case against former president Donald Trump that became embroiled in increasing controversy.

Kinaya Willis arrested for driving with a suspended license

Kinaya Willis was pulled over by the police after they spotted her using her phone while driving, stated the incident report obtained by the Daily Mail. She is pregnant and was behind the wheel of her 2010 Nissan Altima.

According to the report, the Texas Southern University student "stated that the reason for her using her cell phone while operating the vehicle was due to her mother calling her related to her pregnancy."

She claimed to be "unaware" of the fact that her license was revoked on May 13 for the same offense.

Officials from the Tyrone Police Department then searched and handcuffed Kinaya at the side of the highway. She was taken to the Fayette County Jail where she was booked for a misdemeanor charge of driving with a revoked or suspended license.

Fani Willis "later arrived on scene to take possession of her vehicle," according to the report.

Kinaya has been since released and is scheduled to attend the Town of Tyrone Municipal Court on October 24 for her arraignment.

The charge of driving on a suspended license in Georgia carries a punishment of a minimum of two days in jail, a fine of at least $500, and a six-month extension of the suspension.

If she is found guilty of being a second-time offender, it escalates to a minimum of 10 days in jail and a fine of between $1,000 and $2,500.

Conservatives mock Kinaya and Fani Willis over the arrest

Netizens, especially conservatives, were not sympathetic to Kinaya Willis and took to the comments section of the Daily Mail article to troll her and her mother Fani.

"Your mother is a DA in Georgia and her daughter is driving while talking on a cellphone with a twice suspended license? How is this woman in college?" asked a social media user.

"Apple did not fall far from the tree, the law is for you, not for me," said another.

"Ahh, the Fani Willis saga. It’s like the gift that keeps on giving," wrote one person.

"Headed to law school, huh? She'll fit right it: she's already making excuses for illegal behavior," commented another.

"She's going to law school and she doesn't know she broke the law? Lawsy me another DEI hire," wrote one individual.
