Gigi Hadid admits being in ‘cahoots’ with ex Zayn Malik as she shares insight into their relationship

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: This holiday season, Gigi Hadid and her ex-partner Zayn Malik have joined forces to give their daughter, Khai, an unforgettable Christmas experience.

During an interview with the London Evening Standard, Hadid spoke warmly about the beauty of celebrating holidays with four-year-old Khai.

Gigi Hadid shared how motherhood had deepened her appreciation for the festive season, saying, "Everything's more special seeing it through her eyes."

The supermodel revealed that she and Malik worked together to introduce Khai to a new holiday tradition.

"This year, Zayn and I are in cahoots starting Elf on the Shelf," she said, referring to the tradition of parents setting up a toy elf “causing chaos in the house” each night.

For over a decade, Hadid has hosted gingerbread house decorating on Christmas Eve at the Hadid family’s Pennsylvania farmstead.

However, this time, she has decided to shake things up. "I might switch it up," she admitted, hinting at the possibility of trying something new. With a laugh, she added, "I might get into trouble, but I'm the host."

The family gathering on Christmas includes her mother, Yolanda Hadid, and siblings, Bella and Anwar.

Hadid also hinted at potential additional guests this year, saying, "We always end up having extra people," possibly alluding to her boyfriend, Bradley Cooper.

The couple, who started dating two years after her split from Malik, had been publicly together for a year and recently moved into Bradley’s New York apartment.

Despite their breakup in October 2021, Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik maintain an amicable relationship as they continue to co-parent Khai.

Bella Hadid confirmed their strong bond in a heartfelt Instagram post shared in September.

She referred to them as her “favourite collab” and expressed her gratitude for their devotion to Khai, writing, "CC @gigihadid x @zayn my favourite collab thank you from the bottom of my heart."

The post featured a touching photo of Bella and Khai sharing a sweet moment while seated at the back of a pick-up truck.

Gigi and Malik's relationship had spanned six years in an on-again-off-again manner before they officially ended things in 2021.

However, their ability to prioritize Khai’s happiness stands as a testament to their dedication as co-parents.

As the new year approaches, Hadid has set her goals for 2025, expressing a desire to move forward with positivity.

"I'm not really a New Year's resolution type gal. I just keep the good things rolling," she shared.

She also expressed her plan to leave "bad energy and people behind", suggesting a focus on growth and happiness.
