HUNTS POINT, THE BRONX: In a harrowing incident, that unfolded early Sunday, January 21, two lives were tragically cut short as a 23-year-old driver engaged in reckless stunts behind the wheel in the Bronx, resulting in a violent collision with a parked truck.
Among the victims were 21-year-old Gilvante Roberson and 15-year-old Sabrina Villagomez, both of whom lost their lives in the aftermath of the chaotic car crash, according to law enforcement sources.
What led to the tragic Bronx crash?
The unidentified driver, whose actions led to this fatal outcome, was observed swerving out of control before forcefully slamming his white Chrysler 300 into a large red truck parked near the intersection of Bryant and Viele Avenues around 3.28 am. The reckless driving was reportedly part of a meet-up involving thrill-seeking motorists, as revealed by sources and footage of the wreck.
Gilvante, who occupied the front passenger seat, and Sabrina, seated in the back, were rushed to Lincoln Hospital following the crash but, tragically, succumbed to their injuries, as confirmed by the NYPD. Another passenger, a 17-year-old girl seated in the back, sustained injuries and was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition, New York Post reported.

The driver, whose identity remains undisclosed, was taken to Harlem Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. Notably, the parked truck involved in the collision was unoccupied at the time of the crash.
