DETROIT, MICHIGAN: Sports analyst Pat McAfee issued a strong warning to his listeners when some of them started jeering as he mentioned Taylor Swift's name while interviewing league commissioner Roger Goodell at the 2024 NFL Draft.

Though Goodell is infamous for drawing jeers at every NFL Draft, Swift has never experienced jeers from an NFL crowd before despite attending 13 Kansas City Chiefs games to watch her boyfriend Travis Kelce play, per Daily Mail.

Pat McAfee warns NFL fans by telling them Taylor Swift 'gonna cook you'

Football fans across were watching the most recent draft selections on Friday, April 26, when the sports expert invited NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell onto 'The Pat McAfee Show.'

While talking about efforts to keep wagering and other outside influences out of the game, McAfee joked about the pop star who went to multiple NFL games last season to support Travis Kelce, the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Before McAfee's intervention, Goodell declared, "If people think there’s an influence on the game other than the players on that field, we’re in trouble."

"Well Taylor Swift, we know…" McAfee remarked.

"Well, that’s a different kind of influence," Goodell retorted. As several people started yelling and booing at the mention of the 'Cruel Summer' singer's name, Goodell looked around and asked, "They're booing Taylor Swift?"

"Yeah, you can’t—you can’t boo," McAfee reprimanded his audience. He then cautioned them about the possible consequences of continuing. "Yeah, you’re gonna be part of an album. Get a little louder. She is gonna cook you."

It appeared that McAfee issued a warning over Swift's tendency to use her lyrics to tackle significant individuals and events in her life.

Swift, a 14-time Grammy winner, is famous for penning songs about her ex-boyfriends. Her most recent album, 'The Tortured Poets Department', makes references to Jason and Travis Kelce.

Besides her music, Swift's regular attendance at Chiefs games became a topic of conversation during the 2023 NFL season. She publicly confirmed that she was dating Kelce by starting to attend games last autumn.

Swifties swarmed in to support Pat McAfee's warning

Online Swifties flocked to the comment section of Pat McAfee's online post on X (formerly Twitter) to show their support with one exclaiming, "I’m so glad you straightened them out!"

A second one added, "Guarantee all the dudes booing Taylor are the first to say "why don't more women support their men bro"

"‘Do it. Get a little louder. She is going to cook you’ - an all timer line by Pat McAfee," chimed in a third one.

A fourth one added, "As a lifelong football fan and recent swiftie, i am always flabbergasted at how pressed people get seeing Taylor on the screen for 12-45 seconds on their screen during a game. It literally takes longer for y'all to whine about seeing her than actually seeing her."

One more added, "I’d never heard of @PatMcAfeeShow until Taylor and Travis started dating. I really appreciate how he stands up for her and supports Travis too!"

"@PatMcAfeeShow becoming a swiftie this last year brings me joy. I love that for him, she is now family. Thank you for being a stand up dude & an enthusiastic fan. It has contributed significantly to my conversion to football fan. Watching the Draft obsessed! Congrats X Worthy!!!!" said another excited Swiftie.
