'GMA3' host Jennifer Ashton updates her look before the holiday season

Jennifer Ashton shared a snap of her foot propped up in the air so that one could easily spot an intricate black henna tattoo with a floral design.

The host clarified that it's temporary by captioning the post, "Henna ink (aka temporary)."

This wasn't the only change in appearance that the medical professional flaunted this month. In early December,  Ashton took to her Instagram to present a new look took that took her nearly two years to achieve.

She took to Instagram to share a video where she can be heard saying, "Guess what? I had an urge to cut my hair. And Scott, who is my hair stylist here at GMA, he did it."

"She's cut," said Scott as he fluffed up the host's beautiful blonde hair. Ashton's locks were cut to a bit above her shoulders with a side bang going to the right, and she declared that she loved it.

She detailed her decision to change her look in the caption, writing, "I had an urge…. To cut! Fresh start! I will absolutely continue to protect my hair from daily styling damage at work by wearing my faux-pony & wig on Good Morning America, but in my real life, this is going to be a game-changer."

"It’s taken a year and 9 months for my hair to recover from severe damage/breakage/thinning but it CAN happen! I’ve used a combo of rest, supplements, prescription minoxidil, and more protein in my diet," added the ABC host.

Ashton concluded, "Give it time. The life cycle of a hair follicle is slower than we’d like. Thanks to @scott.waldman1 for this great cut! #haircut #hairrecovery."
