'GMA' meteorologist Rob Marciano fired from ABC News, fans hope he 'moves on to a better spot'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Prominent ABC News weatherman Rob Marciano was dismissed on Tuesday, April 30, following a year-long hiatus due to "anger management issues," according to Daily Mail.
55-year-old Marciano, who had been featured on 'Good Morning America' and 'World News Tonight' for a decade, made headlines last year due to complaints about his behavior over the years.
Why ABC fired Rob Marciano?
Cornell graduate Marciano faced a temporary ban from 'GMA's' Time Square Studios after reportedly making a colleague feel uncomfortable, as per Page Six's March 2023 report.
Page Six report said, "He was found to have done something … that was improper, but he was punished for it, and they still haven’t let him return."
Representatives for Marciano did not respond to requests for comment. Recently, he transitioned to ABC News' 'World News Tonight' and began appearing on 'GMA.'
Marciano has also been providing weather reports for various ABC News platforms, including its web livestreams for 'World News Tonight,' produced in a different New York studio, and occasionally for 'GMA,' reporting directly from the field.

His latest report, from Shreveport, Louisiana, was released on April 28th. During Earth Week, he documented the devastation caused by storms such as Katrina and Rita.
However, the exact details of what occurred between Marciano and his colleague last year remain unclear. Another source suggested that he had been grappling with some "anger management issues" while navigating a divorce from his wife. The couple had been married for 11 years and have two children together.
According to the New York Post, "He made people feel uncomfortable. There was a period where there were some issues, a number of alarming events," claimed the source.
As per the Post, there were instances when Marciano displayed crankiness and anger, along with unsavory behavior. He was temporarily removed to address these issues and has since returned.
After earning his meteorology degree from Cornell, Marciano gained experience working at regional TV and radio stations in Oregon, Louisiana, and Connecticut.
He then transitioned to CNN, initially as an anchor and meteorologist, later becoming a co-host on Entertainment Tonight, and eventually serving as a meteorologist for the program. Marciano joined ABC in 2014.
