LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The internet is abuzz with excitement over the emerging bond between Patrick Mahomes and J Cole.

The 28-year-old football quarterback's response to J Cole's latest album sparked speculation among fans, leading some to wonder if the Chiefs player is aligning himself with the rapper after addressing remarks made by fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar.

On Friday, April 5, the three-time Super Bowl MVP took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote 'Cole' followed by two fire emojis.

It's worth mentioning that the post surfaced shortly after Cole dropped his latest 12-track album, 'Might Delete Later.'

While many fans lauded Mahomes for his evident appreciation of Cole's music in the comment section, others speculated that the Chiefs quarterback may be taking a stance amid the perceived conflict between the two rappers.

The "diss" exchange unfolded when Kendrick Lamar's verse on 'Like That,' from Future and Metro Boomin's recent collaborative album 'We Don't Trust You,' stirred the rap community. In the song, the Compton native dismissed the idea that he, Cole, and Drake constituted the "Big 3" of hip-hop.

As per Daily Mail, netizens believed that Cole fired back with the song '7 Minute Drill' in his latest release, leading to speculation about Mahomes siding with the two-time Grammy winner.

However, by referencing Cole in one of his new songs, Mahomes might also be conveying his appreciation for the rapper in the tweet.

In 'Read '24', Cole raps, ''I aimed for the stars and hit, shit was a long shot/ I'm tryna get more bread than Patrick Mahomes got."
