Golden Globes 2024 Worst Dressed: Dua Lipa, Selena Gomez among stars who fail to impress on red carpet
Golden Globes 2024 red carpet: Dua Lipa and Selena Gomez make it to the worst-dressed list
The 81st Golden Globes Award recently concluded at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. Several stars graced the glitzy event dressed in their sartorial best. While many celebrities put their best foot forward in glamorous outfits and stunned their fans, few A-listers failed to leave an impression with their fashion choices. From Dua Lipa to Selena Gomez, here's a look at some of the worst-dressed celebrities at the awards ceremony.
Dua Lipa
Dua Lipa, who was nominated in the Best Original Song category for her song 'Dance the Night' from the movie 'Barbie', appeared in a black off-shoulder Schiaparelli gown that many fans thought resembled a violin.
Helen Mirren
Helen Mirren, who was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Drama Television Series for her show '1923', appeared wearing a mauvish violet dress. While the dress wasn't controversial, the over-the-top dramatic sleeves received censure from fashion pundits.
Jared Leto
Jared Leto, who was joined by Angela Bassett as a presenter at the 2024 Golden Globes Award, wore the classic black-and-white combination - just not in the way one would expect him to wear. Leto's oversized black jacket, leather gloves and snow-white trousers left the critics unimpressed.
Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez, who was nominated for best performance by a female actor in a television series, comedy or musical, for her role of Mabel Mora in 'Only Murders in the Building', wore a red puffy Armani Privé pleated frock which was not approved by many fans.
Lily Gladstone
The winner of the Golden Globe for Actress in a Drama Motion Picture for her film 'Killers of the Flower Moon' enthralled the audience with her performance in the Martin Scorsese directorial. However, the black opera coat and white strapless Valentino ensemble did little to impress the eagle-eyed fashion gurus.
Barry Keoghan
Golden Globe nominee for Actor in a Drama Motion Picture for 'Saltburn', Barry Keoghan was dressed in a Louis Vuitton ensemble comprising of a red evening jacket, red tailored trousers, and a white shirt accessorized with a pearl necklace. His dual-patterned suit did little to make his look seem cohesive.
Billie Eilish
Billie Eilish received the Golden Globe for Best Original Song for her 'Barbie' number 'What Was I Made For?'. While her soulful number outmatched all the other entries in the category, her mismatched outfit of beige skirt, white oversized shirt and extra large black jacket did not receive favorable comments.
Natasha Lyonne
Golden Globe nominee for Best Actress for 'Poker Face', Natasha Lyonne appeared at the award show wearing an ivory tasseled Schiaparelli number. While the color of the dress was elegant, the dramatic structure gave it the appearance of a cloth hanger.
John Krasinski
John Krasinski attended the Golden Globes to support his wife Emily Blunt who was nominated for 'Oppenheimer'. Krasinski continued the saga of mismatched suits by wearing a red satin jacket, plum pants and a white shirt.
Bella Ramsey
Bella Ramsey of 'The Last of Us' opted for a pair of grey trousers with a blue jacket. Ramsey's bespoke Prada suit did not impress many of her fans.
Karen Gillan
The 'Guardians of the Galaxy' star Karen Gillan appeared wearing a scale-patterned dress. The silvery Iris van Herpen dress was adorned with strategically cut-out patterns.
Jason Sudeikis
Jason Sudeikis, who was nominated for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for 'Ted Lasso', appeared wearing a brown velvet suit. While his suit looked fine, the brown suit, purple sweater and pink Nike sneakers did not sit well with many.
