Bravo fans divided as Candiace Dillard Bassett quits 'RHOP' after six seasons citing 'new responsibilities'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Candiace Dillard Bassett has ended her run with 'The Real Housewives of Potomac' after six seasons.
"As I embark on a new chapter after six remarkable years with 'The Real Housewives of Potomac', I am filled with gratitude for the enriching friendships, personal growth, and moments of introspection that have defined this journey," told Dillard Bassett to PEOPLE Magazine.
She added, "With a whirlwind of new opportunities and responsibilities on my plate, I have decided to take a break from RHOP."
The 37-year-old TV star, however, gave her fans a bit of hope for a possible return, saying, "This is not a farewell, but a 'see you later.'"
Dillard Bassett also thanked them for their support, expressing, "Your unwavering support has been my guiding light, and I look forward to the exciting adventures that lie ahead — and more importantly, sharing them all with you!"
Her 'RHOP' run came to an end amid her friction with fellow cast members, Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon.

In the trailer for 'RHOP' Season 8 reunion, Dillard Bassett doubled down on her feelings regarding Bryant and Dixon, and called the latter a "loser."
The reunion host Andy Cohen had previously reacted to the turmoil and shared that he hoped there would be a reconciliation.
Earlier this month, on his SiriusXM show, the TV presenter said, "The flaw of this season is that there are women who aren't able to find any common ground with some of the other women, so there are all these pockets of women that just won't even acknowledge each other — which is not a recipe for, you know, [good TV]."
He added, "One of the hallmarks of the Housewives is finding a way to move forward. And so, that was kind of the directive of the Potomac reunion."
Dillard Bassett debuted in 'RHOP' in Season 3, which premiered in 2018. She even became one of the few Housewives in the franchise's history to get married on the show when her wedding to Chris Bassett was featured in Season 4.
Dillard Bassett became a familiar name after winning the title of Miss United States in 2013. The Howard University graduate also served a tenure in the White House Offices of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs under President Barack Obama as well as worked as a staffer for his 2012 reelection campaign.
