Interestingly, Sage Steele, Don Lemon, Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Chris Cuomo, and various other notable cable news anchors who were terminated have all been represented by Freedman in the past.

Additionally, according to his firm's website, Freedman has provided legal representation for high-profile celebrities in court, including Vin Diesel, Gabrielle Union, Quentin Tarantino, Robert Downey Jr, and Mariah Carey.

Following criticism of McDaniel's hire from many prominent figures at the network, including MSNBC presenters Rachel Maddow, Joe Scarborough, and Mika Brzezinski, as well as former 'Meet the Press' anchor Chuck Todd, NBCUniversal chairman Cesar Conde dismissed McDaniel's paid contributorship offer on Tuesday, March 26.
