‘Zero room for error’: Laura Ingraham warns about looming threat to Republican party’s House majority
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On Fox News' 'The Ingraham Angle', Laura Ingraham asserted that the GOP is "committing a slow suicide" as they diminish their narrow majority in the House of Representatives.
She further forecasted that by summer, the Democrats could potentially seize the lead.
Laura Ingraham sounds alarm over GOP's House majority
During the segment, as per Mediaite, Ingraham criticized Republicans such as Rep Mike Gallagher (R-WI) and Rep Ken Buck (R-CO) for their abrupt announcements of retirement from the Congress.
With Gallagher's exit (as announced on his X post), House Republicans will be left with 217 seats, while Democrats hold 213.

The GOP has faced challenges in pushing through legislation, and Gallagher's resignation narrows their majority to just one vote.
This margin is expected to decrease further in the upcoming months as additional Republican lawmakers depart prematurely.
Ingraham expressed concerns, stating, "So, what if someone has a delayed flight? Gets sick? There is zero room for error."
She added that the "sudden midterm retirements" were strategically timed to inflict damage on the Republicans and the presumed presidential nominee, Donald Trump.
“Now, I’ve been in Washington — this is depressing to report — but 30 years,” Ingraham said.
“I have never witnessed what I’m witnessing now: a party with a narrow majority in the House of Representatives, everything on the line in the country, but committing a slow suicide — the party. This is why conservatives call the GOP the stupid party, by the way," she continued.
Ingraham critiques GOP's support for spending bill
Ingraham also highlighted the decision of the new speaker, Mike Johnson.
She lamented, "The new speaker, Mike Johnson, just signed on to a $1.2 trillion spending bill that essentially gives Joe Biden everything he needs."
Furthermore, Ingraham expressed frustration with the lack of resolve among Republican lawmakers to prioritize spending cuts.
She remarked, "The fact is, as I tried to tell Matt Gaetz, there just aren’t enough serious Republicans in Congress now who really want to cut spending."
"And let’s not forget Republicans’ self-sabotage was also on full display when they helped push George Santos out," she added.
"Obvious ethical issues there, but many of us think what is happening with spending is unethical, as well. Ousting Santos gave the Democrats another seat. By summer, I think, there is distinct possibility that Democrats will have the House majority," Ingraham concluded.
