‘Gossip Girl’ star Chanel Maya Banks files restraining order against family who reported her missing
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Television actor Chanel Maya Banks filed a restraining order against her mother Lutchmin Judy Kumar, and her cousin Danielle-Tori Singh on Thursday, December 26, reported the Daily Mail.
The 36-year-old 'Gossip Girl' alum decided on the course of action after her family filed a missing person's report for her in November. She was found hours later by the Los Angeles Police Department in Texas, and since been constantly active on social media insisting that she did not go missing.

In the documents, the star claimed that Danielle and Lutchmin "acted together to harass and spread lies" to destroy her "credibility" and career. She further accused them of filing a false missing person report and claiming her husband Carlos murdered her.
"They orchestrated this scheme in order to humiliate me publicly and ruin my professional acting career," alleged Banks.
The actor also accused her mother and cousin of breaking in and burglarizing her apartment back in November while she was away. She claimed that the pair stole Carlos' work badge and tagged her vehicle to keep track of her whereabouts.
Banks had a long list of complaints against the pair, which included them allegedly assaulting her husband of one year, causing "visible injuries on his face and neck."

However, sources told TMZ that the marks were present on Carlos before Lutchmin and Danielle broke into Banks' apartment.
The actress further alleged that her mother and cousin wanted to put her on a 5150 psychiatric hold, and sent her threatening messages stating their intention to "weaponize the police" against her.
Chanel Banks' family insists she has been brainwashed by a Christian cult
Lutchmin Judy Kumar and Danielle-Tori Singh have brought forth troubling claims of Chanel Banks being brainwashed by a Christian cult, and that she was being represented by an imposter on social media.
When Banks was discovered by the LAPD, she told officials that she was trying to get away from her family to be baptized by Pastor Robert Clancey. The latter is known for his doomsday warnings and recently advertised a three-day "end times prophetic gathering" in Texas.

Banks accused her family of abusing her, but they denied the claim insisting that it was made by an imposter.
In a press conference in LA in November, Banks' mother and cousin called out the abuse claims as "false" and stated that the star was being held against her will by the Christian group, before breaking down in tears.
However, Banks has maintained that she was doing everything of her own free will, sharing frequent updates on social media. In her court request, she asked Lutchmin and Danielle to be banned from contacting her as well as talking about her in public.
