WASHINGTON, DC: Brian Kemp, the Republican Governor of Georgia, stated that he did not cast his vote for former President Donald Trump in the GOP primary held in the Peach State in March., according to Raw Story.

Kemp told CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on 'The Source,' "I didn’t vote for anybody. I voted, but I didn’t vote for anybody."

The information was disclosed just one day before Donald Trump and Joe Biden are set to face off in a contentious debate on Thursday, June 27, in Atlanta, to determine who will lead the free world in 2025.

He added, "I mean, the race was already over when the primary got here." Moreover, he acknowledged that Trump had secured the nomination by the time the GOP contender had to make a choice.

Remarkably, just days before South Carolina voters were scheduled to choose the next Republican presidential nominee, Trump's fiercest opponent, former UN Ambassador and Governor Nikki Haley, conceded the race.

Kemp mentioned, "I always try to go vote and, you know, play a part in it, but look at that point, it didn’t really matter."

However, Kemp is promising to "support the ticket" in the general election on November 5, even if he may have avoided endorsing Trump in the GOP race.

Collins questioned Kemp about his strong commitment despite Trump and his team blaming him for the state's 12,000-vote loss to the Democratic Party in 2020.

Collins questioned, "I think it would be pretty interesting for [Georgians] to hear why you didn't feel the need to vote for him or didn't want to."

Kemp replied, "It would be for me, personally politically, if I had voted for him or interested if I didn't vote at all. But the bottom line is it doesn't really matter. I mean, he was the presumptive nominee before the primary ever got here."

A person wrote, "Kemp is pledging to 'support the ticket,'" while one added, "A hollow statement. Trump was going to win the primary whether Reich-wing Kemp voted or not and he knows that. You can bet that Herr Kemp will vote for Trump in the general. And if he says he didn't, you should already know that he's lying to you."

A user also stated, "Voter apathy starts at the top, no?" whereas one mentioned, "He voted for Trump. Either that, or he is about to be hailed for his colossal display of courage."
