Greta Gerwig tells Stephen Colbert that her favorite thing about Margot Robbie is 'she can't sing well'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Greta Gerwig, the multifaceted talent known for her directing, writing, and acting prowess, recently sat down with Stephen Colbert on 'The Late Show'.
Despite having many talents, the 'Lady Bird' maker joked about her struggle with speeches, a skill she claims to be terrible at, much to the late-night host's amusement.
Interestingly, the 'Barbie' director had several playful remarks to share when the conversation shifted to Margot Robbie.

Praising Robbie's versatile talents and beauty, Gerwig noted, "I have something similar with Margot Robbie. The star of 'Barbie.' She is so wonderful at everything she does, and you can literally tell her to cry out of one eye and she can. She's that kind of a person. She's astonishingly beautiful."
She added, "My favorite thing about her is that she's, she can't sing that well."
Gerwig recounted an instance from the set of Barbie', saying, "I made her belt out in 'Barbie' Indigo Girls' 'Closer to Fine.' She was like, 'No, don't make me do it.' I was like, 'I love this. I love it so much. I wanted to be loud. In the sound mix, I was really like 'make her out of pitch'."
The anecdote revealed a lighter side to Robbie's otherwise impeccable skill set.

Later in the conversation, Colbert congratulated Gerwig on being named the Cannes Jury President for 2024, marking the first time an American woman director has been appointed to this prestigious role.
Gerwig expressed her excitement and quipped, "I hope they give you a scepter." She also highlighted, "You get to watch three or four movies a day which is all I want to do anyway in Cannes and they are French."
The 'Frances Ha' actress termed the opportunity the "pinnacle of movies and cinema."
