LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Gypsy Rose Blanchard's eight-part documentary series 'Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up', will follow her journey out of prison and back into the public eye.
While taking the TMZ Tour of Los Angeles on Thursday, May 2, Gypsy opened up about receiving a direct message (DM) from singer Joe Jonas.
This comes after Lifetime released the docuseries trailer on Wednesday, May 1, which offers a nuanced image of Gypsy's stardom and challenges adapting to her newfound freedom.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard discloses receiving DM from Joe Jonas
While Gypsy Blanchard was enjoying the sites of Los Angeles on the TMZ bus, the news outlet questioned her about her interactions with celebrities. She revealed that she received a private message from Joe in January.
She said, "Back in January when I was in New York, Joe had DM’ed me and was like, ‘Hey, I’m having a party tonight. Do you want to come out?’"
"And I was like, ‘Unfortunately I can’t make it because I went back to Louisiana. I’m home now, but in the future, sure!’"
When Gypsy was asked if Joe had given her any advice, she said that he had merely invited her to the event.
Regarding the other celebrities that have messaged her, Gypsy hinted that people would soon find out which one is the best, but she also mentioned that she's had some wonderful conversations with child safety advocate Elizabeth Smart, per Just Jared.
She even addressed the question of whether or not she would seek an entertainment career; as it appears that she is open to the concept after release of her eight-part documentary series trailer.
Gypsy's day included more than just the trip; she traveled to the Santa Monica beach with her family. Gypsy claimed it was colder than she had anticipated after getting around ankle-deep in the waves.
Gypsy Blanchard recently provided significant update on her romantic life
Gypsy, 32, recently opened up about her relationship with her ex-fiance Ken Urker during the 'An Evening with Lifetime: Conversations On Controversies' FYC event to promote her new reality show.
She revealed to Extra: "We are very happy together. We have a long history together. We always had a really close friendship that made for a great relationship, we are in a good spot right now."
After splitting from her husband Ryan Scott Anderson in March, Gypsy was spotted hanging out with Ken early in April. Gypsy recently revealed in an interview that she and Ken were once again formally back together.
Gypsy Blanchard served eight years of her 10-year sentence after entering a guilty plea to second-degree murder in 2016. At the time, she and her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, had planned to kill her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard.
Nicholas killed Dee Dee and was found guilty of first-degree murder, and received a life sentence. Gypsy was released in December 2023.
