KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: Gypsy Rose Blanchard is set to be released from prison on Thursday, December 28, after serving over eight years for her involvement in the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard.

She was imprisoned in 2016 after pleading guilty to second-degree murder for her role in the 2015 death of her mother. Dee Dee allegedly subjected her to years of extensive medical child abuse, deceiving doctors, family, and friends into believing Gypsy was severely ill when she was not.

Gypsy apparently plotted the murder with her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, whom she met online. In June 2015, the latter ended up killing Dee Dee, stabbing her 17 times in the back while she was asleep.

Godejohn, who was convicted of first-degree murder, is currently serving a life sentence without parole and is no longer with Gypsy.

Despite being behind bars, Gypsy found love and got married to Ryan Scott Anderson in 2022.

Who is Gypsy Rose Blanchard's husband Ryan Scott Anderson?

As of now, not much is known about Anderson, apart from the fact that he hails from Livingston County, Missouri. They tied the knot on June 27, 2022, and their marriage certificate was recorded on July 21, 2022, as per In Touch Weekly.

Things did grow sour between them in November 2022, as Gypsy talked about filing an annulment to end her marriage with Anderson.

In a letter, she supposedly wrote, "It is with a heavy heart that this morning I made a decision to go ahead and file for annulment and end my marriage with Ryan."

She added, "My marriage ends with no fault to either of us. I believe we are just in different places in our lives and find it too difficult to walk a path together, at this point."

However, neither filed any paperwork to call off their marriage and in the middle of this year, Gypsy confirmed that they had decided to stay together, as per HollywoodLife.

Before getting married to Anderson, Gypsy was engaged to Ken, whom she met through the prison pen pal service. The couple decided to call it quits just a few months after they got engaged in 2019.

Now 32 years old, Gypsy will leave prison just shy of her 33rd birthday. She will have served 85% of her initial 10-year sentence.

While incarcerated, she reportedly found solace in the music of Swift, particularly her song 'Eyes Open', which she says helped her process the trauma inflicted by her mother. Other songs like 'Safe and Sound' resonated with her desire for comfort and safety.

Just two days after her release on New Year's Eve, Gypsy plans to attend a Kansas City Chiefs football game with tickets she purchased in hopes of meeting Swift. The pop star has been dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce since September, making her appearance at the game a possibility.

Upon hearing of Gypsy's dream, her supporters created a Change.org petition for Swift to meet with her. Even though it was met with some apprehension, the petition is quickly gaining steam.

The petition praises Swift's character, highlighting her long history of philanthropy and genuine care for her fans and people in need. "Meeting her idol, Taylor Swift, would bring immense joy not only to her but also to countless others who have followed her story," reads the petition.
