'That’s scary': Petition for Taylor Swift to meet Gypsy Rose Blanchard after prison leaves fans jittery
LIVINGSTON COUNTY, MISSOURI: A plea has been initiated urging Taylor Swift to arrange a meeting with Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who is scheduled to be released from prison early on Thursday, December 28.
Blanchard was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2016 after she pled guilty to murder for the role she played in the killing of her allegedly abusive mother, Dee Dee Blanchard.
She has reportedly served 85% of her sentence, including the credit she received for the time spent in jail before entering her plea.
Earlier reports suggested that Gypsy Rose expressed a wish to meet the hitmaker of 'Karma', who is widely recognized for "philanthropy and kindness toward fans."
Yet, this unusual proposition has been met with skepticism by the Internet community.

Gypsy Rose, who faced murder charges at the age of 23, is set to reclaim her liberty at 32. She attributes her survival of eight years behind bars in part to her admiration for pop star Taylor Swift.
As per TMZ, Gypsy Rose has secured tickets for a Kansas City Chiefs game on New Year's Eve, just two days after her release.
She harbors hopes of catching a glimpse of Swift, who might be there to support her boyfriend Travis Kelce.
It's also reported that Swift’s song 'Eyes Wide Open' played a significant role in helping Gypsy Rose deal with the trauma inflicted by her mother’s actions.
Gypsy Rose reportedly fell victim to Munchausen syndrome by proxy. Her mom, Dee Dee, had a mental health issue known as Factitious disorder imposed on another, or Munchausen syndrome by proxy.
This condition is characterized by a caregiver persistently seeking medical attention for the fabricated, exaggerated, or self-inflicted illness of another individual.
The global community was captivated by the murder of Dee Dee and her treatment of her daughter.
The story has been the inspiration for numerous documentaries, films, and a Hulu miniseries called 'The Act'.
In the series, Joey King took on the role of Gypsy Rose, while Patricia Arquette portrayed Dee Dee. Gypsy Rose has reportedly given several interviews from behind bars, per Time.
Who launched the petition for Swift to meet Gypsy Rose?
On Friday, December 22, a Blanchard supporter initiated a petition on Change.org titled "Encourage Taylor Swift to Meet Gypsy Rose Blanchard." It currently has a humble count of 55 signatures.
Gypsy's "journey has touched the hearts of many, including mine, and I believe that meeting her idol, Taylor Swift, would bring immense joy not only to her but also to countless others who have followed her story," the petition states.
"Taylor Swift is known for her philanthropy and kindness towards fans. She has been involved in numerous charitable causes throughout her career and has shown time and again that she genuinely cares about people. Meeting with Gypsy Rose would be a testament to this spirit," it adds.
Petition leaves Swifties and Internet jittery
The internet has, however, not taken well to the development.
A user commented on Facebook, "That’s kinda scary."
"Oh my lord. She's still crazy! Taylor needs more body guards!" said another.
"Really’ meet Taylor swift?? I could think of maybe a few other things," someone else added.
"Betcha Taylor isn't gonna meet her !!" noted a user.
"I don't think Taylor will agree to that," stated another.
"Her first move should be figuring out how to get a job," claimed a user.
