Halle Bailey seemingly teases latest project hinting at breakup song

Halle Bailey took to social media on Saturday, October 12, to share a glimpse of her latest project.

In a short clip, the singer and actress strummed her guitar, offering a sneak preview of a new song. She sings, "Breaking my heart in two", suggesting the track could address her emotional journey following her split from DDG.

This isn't the first time Bailey has opened up through music. Fans will recall her recent release 'Because I Love You' which dropped in August.

With her distinctive soulful voice, Bailey has always been one to wear her heart on her sleeves when it comes to her music, and her latest snippet seems to be no exception.

Alongside her song preview, she posted a photo of her son, Halo, who she shares with DDG, sitting in front of a keyboard at the studio, reinforcing the idea that family and music are deeply intertwined for her.

Though Bailey has yet to confirm that the song is about her breakup, the timing and the emotional nature of the lyrics have left fans buzzing.

The breakup between Bailey and DDG has been a trending topic for weeks. The two had been together for some time, but earlier this month, DDG confirmed that they were officially parting ways.

On October 3, DDG, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr, posted a heartfelt message on his Instagram Stories, addressing the breakup.

He revealed that the decision to separate was mutual, sharing, “After a lot of reflection and heartfelt conversations, we have decided to go our separate ways.”

He added, “Despite the changes in our relationship, our love for each other remains deep and true. We are still best friends and adore each other.”

DDG also noted that the two will continue to co-parent their son, Halo, and that their focus moving forward will be on their individual journeys and their roles as parents.

His post emphasized that, while their relationship was changing, their bond as a family remained strong. He concluded by asking fans for understanding and support as they navigate this transition.

Since then, DDG has repeatedly addressed their split online. Earlier this week, he responded to trolls who criticized the breakup and speculated on his personal life.

The rapper made it clear that his bond with Bailey and their son is unbreakable, saying, “Me and Halle are forever family. I would Swiss cheese your granny, I don’t care if she’s 100... That’s called family.”
