Halle Berry reveals she and Angelina Jolie ‘had a rocky start’ while working on 'Maude v Maude'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Halle Berry and Angelina Jolie are set to star in a new action-comedy film called 'Maude v Maude', but their collaboration did not start off smoothly.
The Oscar-winning actresses had some initial conflicts that they had to overcome before becoming friends and co-producers.

In an interview with Variety, Halle revealed that she and Angelina had a “rocky start” while working together on the film which she described as a mix of 'Mr & Mrs Smith' and 'Mission: Impossible' with a comic twist.
She said that they had to fight each other “physically and intellectually” on screen, but that also helped them bond off screen. “We had a rocky start and I think that is going to serve us well in our screen time together,” Halle said.
She added, “I am thrilled to work with another woman and craft a story with out sensibility and from our point of view. She is formidable.”
She did not disclose the exact reason for their initial clash, but teased that it was a “good one” that people would have to wait to hear.

Halle also shared that she and Angelina found many things to talk about, especially their personal lives and experiences with divorce and exes. Both actresses have been married and divorced multiple times and have children from their previous relationships.
“We’ve been talking a lot about divorces and exes. We bonded, let’s say that,” Halle said. She finalized her divorce from French actor Olivier Martinez in August after eight years of marriage and a son, Maceo, who is now nine years old.
She, as per E! News, said that the divorce proceedings took so long because they wanted more clarity on their son’s schedule and custody arrangement.

While dealing with her divorce, Halle also found love again with musician Van Hunt, whom she started dating in September 2020. The couple made their red carpet debut in 2021 and Halle has been gushing about her new partner ever since.
“I wish I had met him sooner so I could have loved him longer,” she told Women’s Health in September 2021, adding “I just feel fulfilled. I feel happy in my life romantically, as a mother, as an artist."
'"I’m a much better mother in this circumstance than I would have been had I stayed in a romantic relationship that didn’t serve me and didn’t make me feel the way I need to feel as a woman," she continued.
