Halle Berry's BF Van Hunt reveals he has already popped the question but 'it's still on hold'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Halle Berry and Van Hunt have been in a relationship for five years, but the Oscar-winning actress has yet to give an answer to the musician's marriage proposal.
The revelation came after the couple appeared together for an interview for the first time on the June 4 episode of 'Today with Jenna & Friends'.
Van Hunt says Halle Berry has left his proposal ‘floating’
Van Hunt shared that he had already asked Halle Berry to marry him, but the proposal remains pending as the actress takes her time with the decision.
“I put out the proposal, and it’s still on hold as you can see,” Hunt told TODAY.com after their joint interview.
“It’s just out there floating. You know, maybe you can encourage her," he requested.

Berry explained that her past experiences with marriage have made her cautious.
“Well, I’ve been married three times. Van has been married once, and so no, we don’t feel like we have to get married to validate our love in any way. We don't,” the 'Catwoman' actress said.

Halle Berry says Van Hunt is the one she 'should have married'
Halle Berry was previously married to Olivier Martinez, with whom she split in 2015.
Before that, she was married to former MLB player David Justice (1993–1997) and musician Eric Benet (2001–2005).
She and Hunt began their relationship in 2020 during the pandemic, initially bonding virtually.
The couple had a private "commitment ceremony" in 2021 after Berry's son, Maceo, suggested they get married, per BuzzFeed.
Despite her hesitation, Berry made it clear that she sees a future with Hunt.
“I think we will get married just because, out of the people I’ve been married to, this is the person I should have married,” Berry said.
She added, “And I feel like I should, we should get married, but it’s not because we feel like we have to. I think it’s something that we would like to do just because we want that expression.”
Halle Berry says she has finally 'found my person'
As for when she might accept the proposal, Halle Berry responded with, “Soon.” She also spoke about the strength of their bond to TODAY.com.
“We've been doing this for five years together. This is the longest relationship I've ever had. It's the happiest [I've ever been]," Berry said.
"When you find your person, you find your person. I now have found my person, finally,” Berry shared.
