LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Halsey recently got candid about her health struggles, life, and death in her latest single, 'The End.'

While Halsey did not confirm an exact diagnosis, she made it clear by donating to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Lupus Research Alliance, according to a press release by Time Magazine.

"Long story short, I’m lucky to be alive,” Halsey wrote in a social media post on Tuesday, June 4 morning. “Short story short, I wrote an album. It begins with The End.”

The post featured pictures and videos of Halsey undergoing treatment, and the caption mentioned the Lupus Research Alliance and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. In addition to releasing this song, Halsey is donating to these two charities.

In the post’s first video, Halsey rubs her aching legs and tells a person off-camera, “I feel like an old lady. I told myself I’m giving myself two more years to be sick. At 30, I’m having a rebirth and I’m not gonna be sick and I’m gonna look super hot and have so much energy and just get to re-do my twenties in my thirties.”

The lyrics in 'The End' talk about similar grievances. It says, “Every couple of years now, a doctor says I’m sick / Pulls out a brand new bag of tricks / And then they lay it on me / And at first, it was my brain, then a skeleton in pain / And I don’t like to complain, but I’m saying sorry.”

'The End' was written by Halsey and produced by Halsey, Michael Uzowuru (Frank Ocean, Rosalía, SZA, Kevin Abstract) and Alex G.

The singer's first single since 2021's 'If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power,' produced by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, is a guitar-driven track off her upcoming fifth studio album. She parted relations with her longtime label, Capitol Music Group, last year and signed with Columbia Records, under which her fifth album will be published.
