NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: The December 19 episode of 'Good Morning America' had actress Hannah Waddingham join in as a guest to promote her holiday special on Apple TV+. However, the discussion quickly veered toward the acclaimed television series 'Ted Lasso' where her performance earned her multiple accolades, including two Emmy Awards and one Golden Globe.

The show, which also starred Jason Sudeikis in the titular role, completed its three-season run in April 2023. Since then there have been rumors about a spin-off focusing on Waddingham and co-star Juno Temple's characters, best friends Rebecca Welton and Keeley Jones.

Reacting on the subject, Waddingham told the co-hosts of 'GMA' in her best Rebecca voice, "If I told you that, I'd have to kill you."

"Actually, in all seriousness, I don't know. I would love there to be a world in which we can dip in and out and see them over time. If you guys are mourning 'Ted Lasso,' trust me the cast are mourning it more," she added.

Hannah Waddingham teams up with Jason Sudeikis for duet

The cast of 'Ted Lasso' share a very strong bond, as Waddingham explained, "We just dig each other's molecules." Back in November, she joined Sudeikis to sing 'Shallow' at a charity event, which later went viral online.

"That was actually an accident, how he and I ended up singing that," said the actress, "We went to sing something else (and) then realized it was too low for me, too high for him."

They decided to switch the song only two days ahead of the event, arrived at the venue twelve hours before the start, and won over the crowd with their performance.

Hannah Waddingham shares experience of filming new 'Mission: Impossible'

Speaking of working with Tom Cruise on the upcoming eighth film in the 'Mission: Impossible' series, Waddingham said that it had been a wonderful experience for her thus far.

"He is one of the most extraordinary people I have ever met, and I was very struck by him. If people are nervous around him, he will make a beeline and make them feel totally supported. Seeing somebody maneuver themselves like that was really quite something and really inspiring," she said about Cruise.

Waddingham felt "to be dropped into that world was literally just insane", and added that she still had more scenes remaining for the shoot.
