LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Actress Kelly Rizzo shared an emotional tribute to her late husband Bob Saget on Sunday, May 17, honoring what would have been his 70th birthday with heartfelt memories and a nostalgic throwback video on Instagram.

Longtime friend John Stamos also honored the late comedian with heartfelt posts reflecting on his life, career, and lasting impact following his death on January 9, 2022, from accidental blunt head trauma caused by an unwitnessed fall.

Rizzo honored her late husband with an emotional Instagram tribute alongside a throwback video of him smiling and blowing out birthday candles. In her lengthy caption, she reflected on what Saget would have been like at 70, writing that he would still be “going full steam ahead” because retirement “wasn’t in his vocabulary.”

“Happy heavenly 70th birthday. Wow… 70. I always think about what Bob would be doing and what he’d be like if he were still here,” she wrote. Rizzo added that he would have wanted everyone to know he was the “youngest-looking, youngest-feeling, and youngest-acting 70-year-old on the planet.”

She further emphasized that he would still be “creating, working, making people laugh, and finding new ways to share his gifts with the world.”

Rizzo also reflected on how much he would have enjoyed becoming a grandfather while continuing to be “an incredible dad, husband, friend, uncle, and so many other things to so many people.”

She also noted that Saget often spoke about fellow comedian Don Rickles “still doing stand-up close to 90,” and Norman Lear “still going to work every day and making deals at nearly 100,” saying, “That’s how Bob saw his future.”

She also admitted that while she always felt grateful for the six years she shared with him, she still wishes people could have seen what he would be doing today. “We love you, we miss you, Bob,” she wrote, adding that she was honored to continue sharing “all the Bob love.”

Earlier this week, on the Wednesday, May 13, episode of her podcast 'Comfort Food with Kelly Rizzo,' she revealed that she had recently rediscovered a grief journal from less than a month after Saget’s death and admitted she had no memory of writing in it because she was “still in such a fog” at the time.

Stamos also paid tribute to Saget on Instagram by sharing what he described as the “last pic” he ever took with his late friend before his death. The photo showed Stamos and Saget posing with their wives, Caitlin McHugh and Rizzo, in front of the ocean at sunset.

“We used to throw each other great birthday parties. Your 70th today would've been epic! I miss you and love you,” Stamos wrote in the caption. The Instagram carousel also included videos and throwback photos of the pair singing together, performing onstage, and sharing affectionate moments backstage.

Fans and celebrity friends flooded the comments section with messages remembering Saget and offering support. The duo famously starred together in the sitcom 'Full House' from 1987 to 1995, playing Jesse Katsopolis and Danny Tanner.

They later reprised their roles in Netflix’s 'Fuller House' from 2016 to 2020. Previously, on the second anniversary of Saget’s death, Stamos reflected on his grief in another Instagram tribute, writing that while the sharp pain had lessened over time, he still missed his friend “every day.”
