Harris blasted for failing to address Trump's claim that she supports abortions in the 'ninth month'
PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA: Former President Donald Trump didn't hold back during his Tuesday, September 10 debate with Vice President Kamala Harris.
The 78-year-old firebrand accused the Biden-Harris administration of supporting what he called "radical" abortion policies, including allowing abortions in the "ninth month" and even "after birth."
Donald Trump says Kamala Harris and Tim Walz think abortion in the 'ninth month is absolutely fine'
Donald Trump wasted no time going for the jugular. He pointed fingers directly at Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz, calling their stance on abortion "radical."
"They have abortion in the ninth month," alleged the GOP presidential nominee, adding, "They’re radical. The Democrats are radical in that. And her vice presidential pick [Walz], which I think is a horrible pick by the way … says abortion in the ninth month is absolutely fine."
Trump went on to say, "He also says execution after birth — no longer abortion because the baby is born — is OK. And that’s not OK with me."
Not one to back down, Harris shot back by saying, "Well, as I said, you’re going to hear a bunch of lies." ABC News moderator Linsey Davis also fact-checked Trump, pointing out that executing a newborn is illegal in all states.
Abortion has been a hot-button issue ever since the Supreme Court’s 2022 decision to overturn Roe v Wade, the landmark ruling that had guaranteed women the constitutional right to an abortion.
Since that controversial ruling, 14 states with Republican-led governments have rushed to implement near-total bans on abortion—some prohibiting the procedure at all stages of pregnancy. Others, like Florida, have set bans at six weeks, often before many women even know they’re pregnant, as reported by the New York Post.
Harris has long been an advocate for reproductive rights. She didn’t shy away from her support for federal legislation that would protect abortion access nationwide.
The vice president is the first White House official to visit an abortion clinic. She believes abortion should be allowed until a fetus is viable outside the womb, and even later if medical circumstances necessitate it, as per the Los Angeles Times.
Kamala Harris claims Donald Trump 'hand-selected' Supreme Court justices to overturn Roe v Wade
Kamala Harris didn’t mince words when it came to Donald Trump’s role in shaping the current Supreme Court.
"Donald Trump hand-selected three members of the Supreme Court with the intention that they would overturn Roe v Wade," said the Democratic nominee, pointing to his appointment of conservative Supreme Court justices.
Harris warned that the MAGA spearhead's influence on the court has led to a situation where "Trump abortion bans make no exception, even for rape and incest," and suggested that if Trump were to win a second term, he would push the envelope even further.
"Understand, if Donald Trump were to be reelected, he will sign a national abortion ban," argued the vice president.
Trump, however, was quick to counter this accusation. "It’s a lie. I’m not signing a ban," retorted the ex-POTUS, noting that there’s no need for such a measure because "we’ve gotten what everybody wanted."
Harris refused to clearly state whether she’d support any restrictions on abortion access.
"I absolutely support reinstating the protections of Roe v Wade," responded the Demcoract when asked by the moderator. She stressed, "Nowhere in America is a woman carrying a pregnancy to term and asking for an abortion — that is not happening."
But Trump didn’t miss the opportunity to put Harris on the spot, asking her whether she would support abortion in the eighth and ninth months of pregnancy. Harris didn’t answer this question and it didn’t go unnoticed by the public.

Kamala Harris slammed over her silence on Donald Trump's question on 'ninth month' abortions
As the debate raged on, the internet lit up with reactions, especially to Kamala Harris' responses, or lack thereof, to some of Donald Trump's queries about her abortion stance.
One wrote, "Kamala wouldn’t deny allowing 7th, 8th, 9th month abortions. That’s not a good look lady," and another said, "We Know The Answer."
A person remarked, "Kamala Harris endorsing zero restrictions on abortion is insane. No limits at any stage? This is beyond radical—it’s dangerous and disturbing," while someone else expressed, "Kamala couldn’t even answer the question, straight DEFLECTION."
An individual simply stated, "She’s pathetic."
"Kamala Harris just said clearly that she would not support a single restriction on abortion. Ninth month? No problem. Day of pregnancy? No problem. Day after birth? No problem. This woman is absolutely sick," fumed one more.
