PARIS, FRANCE: Harrison Butker promptly criticized a segment of the 2024 Olympics opening ceremony on Friday, July 26, after it featured a recreation of Leonardo da Vinci's 'The Last Supper.'

The performance reportedly featured drag queens and other actors in place of Jesus and his disciples, as reported by Newsweek.

Harrison Butker's criticism of Olympics opening ceremony garners nearly 3M views

Harrison Butker shared a video of the act on X, quoting a Bible verse from Galatians: “Be not deceived, God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows, that shall he also reap. For he that sows to the flesh shall reap corruption from the flesh; but he that sows to the Spirit shall reap everlasting life from the Spirit.” — Galatians 6:7-8.

The football kicker’s post garnered nearly three million views within hours.

Social media reactions to Olympics opening ceremony

Many people echoed Harrison Butker's sentiment, with one X user commenting, “France has become woke, gay, and satanic all at once.”

One user wrote, "As a Christian, I'm infurtiated the Olympics mocked The Last Supper by replacing The Lords and his Apostles with people Jesus would've told us to love and respect."

Another user commented, “I completely agree, Harrison! Maybe more people should take a little time to read the Bible every day.”

Another user said, “What is the purpose of this at the Olympics? To openly mock Christians? Just pathetic on their part.”

“Common Butker W. Amen, brother. Keep standing up for what is right,” one user stated.

A user named Patriot Voice posted, "The Paris Olympics have gone FULL BLOWN SATANIC. Going so far as to mock the Last Supper of Christ & have a celebration of worship to Baal/Moloch. If this isn't a sign of the time we are living in...Spritual warfare FULLY fenifesting in the flesh. This isn'y 'satanic."'

Former college athlete Riley Gaines also remarked, “Men in wigs taking center stage at the Olympic Games. Don’t ever tell me this group is ‘oppressed’ or ‘marginalized’ again.”

Libs of TikTok wrote on X, “The Olympics has basically turned into one long drag show. The Olympics has gone completely woke.”

Calls for Olympic boycott intensify amid controversial opening ceremony

“This was extremely disrespectful to Christians,” Elon Musk tweeted.

A person commented, “If the same disrespect was shown to a certain religion, the reaction by extreme members of the religion would be potentially dangerous. Unfortunately, this is the truth I wish wasn’t.”

Another person expressed, “I actually feel sad for these actors - I know, I know…they may be deliriously happy to be a part of it but I’m sure some, at least, ‘know not what they are doing’. It’s sad to see so many pulled into Satan’s lies.”

One user mentioned, "This is crazy. Opening your event by replacing Jesus and the disciples at the The Last Supper with men in drag. There are 2.4 billion Christians on earth and apparently the Olympics wanted to declare loudly to all of them, right out of the gate NOT WELCOME."

A declaration by a user read, “This is an abomination and every Christian leader, politician, celebrity, and athlete should be condemning this anti-Christian ceremony. Boycott the Olympics.”

A tweet read, “A mockery that deserves to be mocked. But as you rightly point out, God is not mocked. The reaping will come.”
