LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Harrison Ford does not regret making the 2023 Indiana Jones movie, even though it fell short at the box office.

Ford, 82, reflected on 'Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny' while promoting his upcoming Marvel film 'Captain America: Brave New World.'

Harrison Ford says 'I wanted one more chance' to pick up the Indiana Jones character 

Harrison Ford shared his thoughts in an interview with Wall Street Journal, on Wednesday, February 5.

The actor addressed the film’s lower-than-expected earnings, saying, "S**t happens."

Ford, who originated the role in 1981's 'Raiders of the Lost Ark,' explained his motivation for reprising Indiana Jones.

"I was really the one who felt there was another story to tell," Ford told the publication.

"When [Indy] had suffered the consequences of the life that he had to live, I wanted one more chance to pick him up and shake the dust off his ass and stick him out there, bereft of some of his vigor, to see what happened," he added, according to People

"I’m still happy I made that movie," Ford added.

Harrison Ford received a Palme d’Or for lifetime achievement at Cannes

'Dial of Destiny' marked Harrison Ford’s final appearance as Indiana Jones, following 2008’s 'Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.'

Set in 1969, the movie follows Jones as he prepares for retirement but gets pulled into one last mission with his goddaughter Helena, played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Their goal is to stop former Nazi scientist Dr Jurgen Voller, played by Mads Mikkelsen, from using the mysterious dial to alter the outcome of World War II.

The film premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, where Ford was honored with a Palme d’Or for lifetime achievement.



 

Harrison Ford wants to 'keep working' and doesn't care what happens 

More than a year after 'Dial of Destiny's' release, Harrison Ford remains active with roles in the television series 'Shrinking' and the 'Yellowstone' prequel '1923.'

He is also set to appear alongside Anthony Mackie in 'Captain America: Brave New World,' hitting theaters on February 14.



 

When asked by WSJ about concerns over how his likeness might be used in the future, Ford responded, "My plan is to keep working behind that face till I don’t care what happens anymore."

"I’m selling that piece by piece while I’m alive. I’ve been compensated. You don’t need to worry about me," he added.
