LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Harrison Ford has launched a blistering attack on President Donald Trump, calling out the 79-year-old over his stance on climate change.

Speaking to The Guardian in an interview published on Friday, October 31, the 'Indiana Jones' star accused Trump of ignoring decades of scientific evidence and prioritizing profit over the planet.

“He doesn’t have any policies, he has whims,” Ford said. “It scares the s*** out of me. The ignorance, the hubris, the lies, the perfidy. [Trump] knows better, but he’s an instrument of the status quo and he’s making money, hand over fist, while the world goes to hell in a handbasket.”

“It’s unbelievable. I don’t know of a greater criminal in history,” he added.

Harrison Ford warns of the entrenched status quo and Trump

Harrison Ford, 82, who has been an environmental advocate for more than three decades, didn’t hold back when reflecting on the Trump administration’s record.

“Everything we’ve said about climate change has come true,” he said. “Why is that not sufficient that it alarms people that they change behaviors? Because of the entrenched status quo.”

The 'Star Wars' actor went on to accuse Trump of misleading the public about global warming. “He’s losing ground because everything he says is a lie,” Ford declared.

Harrison Ford says political will is needed to fight climate change

Despite his frustration, Harrison Ford struck a hopeful tone about humanity’s ability to reverse course. “I’m confident we can mitigate against [climate change], that we can buy time to change behaviors, to create new technologies, to concentrate more fully on implementation of those policies,” he told the outlet.

“But we have to develop the political will and intellectual sophistication to realize that we human beings are capable of change," the actor highlighted, adding, "We are incredibly adaptive, we are incredibly inventive. If we concentrate on a problem, we can fix it most times."

Trump dismissed climate change as the ‘greatest con job’ during UN speech

Harrison Ford’s remarks came a month after Donald Trump told the United Nations that climate change was “the greatest con job ever perpetrated on the world.” During that September speech, the commander-in-chief urged countries to “get away from the green scam” and focus on “strong borders and traditional energy sources.”

Under Trump’s administration, the White House rolled back environmental regulations, cut renewable energy funding, and withdrew the US from the Paris Climate Agreement, moves that drew sharp criticism from environmentalists.

Harrison Ford has long been a vocal critic of Trump

This isn’t the first time the Oscar-nominated actor has taken aim at Donald Trump. In November 2024, Ford publicly endorsed Kamala Harris for president, saying she would “protect your right to disagree with her about policies or ideas.”

“The other guy, he demands unquestioning loyalty, says he wants revenge,” Ford said in a video message shared by Harris’ campaign. “I’m Harrison Ford. I’ve got one vote, same as anyone else and I’m going to use it to move forward. I’m going to vote for Kamala Harris.”

At the time, Ford said he was “frustrated about a lot of things in this country,” and accused Trump of dividing Americans.

“The other guy spent four years turning us against each other while embracing dictators and tyrants around the world,” he said. “That’s not who we are. We don’t need to make America great again. We already are great. What we need is to work together again.”
