LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hayden Panettiere has checked into rehab following an intervention by a family member who traveled to Los Angeles to assist the actress, according to a source close to the family.

This family member also took the step of removing Hayden’s boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, from her home.

The intervention on October 6 was prompted by fans expressing concern over Hayden’s health after she appeared to slur her words during a media interview. At the time, she attributed her disoriented behavior to exhaustion.

Recently, Hayden has kept a low profile, with her last Instagram post dating back to September 24. She shared a photo from the Today show, expressing gratitude to her co-hosts.

Concerns about Hayden escalated after a September 18 interview with People, where she spoke affectionately about her daughter, Kaya. Viewers noted her slurred speech, leading many to urge the outlet to remove the video.

She clarified that her representative cut the interview short as it became clear she was struggling.

In her interview, she also discussed her brother, Jansen Panettiere, who passed away in 2023. Hayden has been candid about her struggles with opioid and alcohol addiction, previously sharing her journey in a July 2022 interview with People. “I was on top of the world, and I ruined it,” she reflected on her addiction, acknowledging that sobriety has been challenging but expressing gratitude for her second chance.
