'He did that on purpose': Internet not surprised as Tony Romo calls Taylor Swift Travis Kelce's wife again

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: Tony Romo reportedly called Taylor Swift Travis Kelce's wife and not girlfriend once again.

The apparent incident happened on Monday, December 25, during the second quarter of the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Las Vegas Raiders, PEOPLE reported.

Jim Nantz told Romo, ‘You’ve been down that road with that before’

The footage of the mistake was shared on Instagram by ESPN, which showed Swift standing and clapping for the NFL star as the camera moved toward him.

The 43-year-old Romo was doing the commentary at the time as he reportedly said, “And his wife loves it, I mean, girlfriend.”

Broadcaster Jim Nantz immediately said, “You’ve been down that road with that before,” referring to the time when Romo referred to the ‘Lover’ hitmaker as Kelce’s wife during the Bills-Chiefs game last week.

At the time, the former football quarterback stated, “As you see, Kelce’s wife, Taylor Swift, in the audience,” before correcting, “Er, I'm sorry. Girlfriend!”

‘Tony Romo needs to be quiet’

Meanwhile, several people took to different social media platforms to share thoughts over the recent apparent blunder.

An Instagram user commented, “That wasn't an accident but still who cares.”

Another user shared, “Travis Kelce put Taylor Swift on the map.”

The third one remarked, “Tony Romo saw the future 😂.”

The fourth one said, “Romo predicts all the plays, this one is coming true too.”

Besides, a person on X (formerly Twitter ) tweeted, “He did that on purpose.”

The second person stated, “It’s the second game he’s done that - so at this point, it’s on purpose.”

“Tony Romo needs to be quiet. He put the bad word on the @Chiefs and my beloved @PatrickMahomes, saying this is a trap game. Jinx!!!” a user remarked.

Another user posted, “Yeah that for sure on purpose 🤣🤣...man predicts the future of upcoming plays and relationships.”

“Romo and Nantz critical of Chiefs and Raiders sloppy first half play, but their broadcast was even more sloppy and embarrassing,” a critic asserted.

Taylor Swift is ‘just part of Chiefs Kingdom’

Meanwhile, it seems things between Swift and Kelec are getting serious.

Recently, the football tight end’s teammate and friend Patrick Mahomes commented on the brewing romance as he reportedly said, “At first, I feel like everybody kind of stayed away, we all just let him (Travis) do what he was doing.”

He continued, “And then he started bringing Taylor around and you realize how cool of a person she is. For us, there were a couple of jokes in the beginning."

Mahomes then stated, “But she's just part of Chiefs Kingdom now and she is part of the team.”

“And for me, it's Travis man, he's lucky enough to be with a great woman. She's a top tier at her profession, and how she drives and becomes that, dude it's really cool to hear about and to see and now I have a first-hand look at that through Brittany and Travis' eyes,” he added.
