The artist behind 'Montero (Call Me By Your Name)' has been a consistent target of gossip and trolling on various social media platforms. In a recent development, he stirred significant controversy by unveiling a provocative promotional image for his upcoming single 'J Christ'.

This image, depicting Lil Nas X in the likeness of Jesus Christ crucified, has generated a considerable amount of backlash from users on social media.

Lil Nas X asserts he doesn't care what Lady Gaga and Madonna did in their career

Following the announcement of Lil Nas X's latest track, 'J Christ', he has faced substantial criticism for the accompanying visual.

One X user accused him of emulating the styles of Lady Gaga and Madonna, expressing their disapproval with a tweet: "Good morning IDC about you. disrespecting religion but I feel like you’re just extra to be extra and yes, trolling. What Gaga did with Judas, Madonna with Like A Prayer, Nicki with Roman Holiday - There’s a sense of CLASS to it."

In response to these comparisons, Lil Nas X addressed the allegations in a tweet, stating, "The problem with a lot of yall gays is yall think im trying to be like gaga or madonna when in reality with all due respect idgaf what they did and im doing what i want with my career."

After Lil Nas X's assertion that he isn't influenced by Gaga or Madonna, numerous critics continued to voice their disapproval.

Notably, Lil Nas X unveiled a teaser video for 'J Christ', featuring celebrity doppelgangers of stars such as Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Kanye West, Mariah Carey, Oprah, and Barack Obama. The video depicts these look-alikes walking through a field and ascending a stairway to the gates of heaven, according to Billboard.

Internet users slam Lil Nas X 

A user wrote, "This is offensive to Lady Gaga and Madonna, they actually took their craft seriously while also being somewhat controversial, he just wants to be controversial and also sing on the side. Those are 2 different things. He enjoys being controversial more than producing his craft."

Another user wrote, "He'll never be them no matter how hard he tries."

A user called Lil Nas X 'annoying' and wrote, "He’s so annoying.. pack it up."

A user called him 'boring' and wrote, "Dude is still in the same boring era. His sound hasn’t changed. Just plain boring."
