MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: Jimmy Kimmel reignited his feud with Tucker Carlson on February 7 following the announcement that the former Fox News host was in Russia.

In a recent monologue on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live', comedian and late-night host Kimmel couldn't help but poke fun at the incredulity of the situation.

Jimmy Kimmel takes a swipe at Tucker Carlson's Moscow visit

"Tucker Carlson still doesn't have a job. He's in Moscow," Kimmel remarked, adding, "House-hunting, I hope."

Carlson, known for espousing far-right conspiracy theories and hosting shows characterized by racism, xenophobia, and white nationalism, stated that he was going to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Kimmel expressed his disdain, stating, "He's a murderer, he's a war criminal, he hates America, he hates everything America stands for, he's a liar and a propagandist," referring to Putin. "But Tuck thinks we just need to hear him out," Kimmel added.

He then played a clip of Carlson claiming he wants to understand Putin's perspective since he's "involved in this conflict" with Ukraine.

"I love 'involved in this conflict,'" Kimmel remarked. "It's like saying that in 'Jaws,' the great white shark was 'involved in the biting.' It takes two to be eaten, y'know."

The irony of the situation is not lost on observers.

Tucker Carlson, known for his staunchly conservative views and unwavering support for American exceptionalism, finds himself in the unenviable position of attempting to navigate a diplomatic tightrope between two nations with historically strained relations.

Another individual praised Kimmel, saying, "Second to none, wow. No one's faster/better than Kimmel and his team of writers at coming up with punish-ing headlines. Really just consistently remarkable."

To add context to the feud, The Independent reported in 2023 that during the Academy Awards, Jimmy Kimmel targeted Tucker Carlson, criticizing the Fox News host's portrayal of the January 6 riot as "peaceful."

While introducing the film editing category, Oscars host Kimmel subtly took a jab at Carlson without directly mentioning him by name. "Anyone who’s ever received a text message from their father knows how important editing is," he quipped.

Kimmel further remarked, "Editors do amazing things. Editors can turn 44,000 hours of violent insurrection footage into a respectful sight-seeing tour of the Capitol." The audience responded with laughter.
