MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Former President Donald Trump found himself thrust into an unusual spotlight after expressing that he wants to go to "all of his trials" to fight allegations, that he believes were "set up" by Democrats and President Joe Biden.

The 77-year-old GOP front-runner delivered the remarks during a press conference held at his Manhattan property at 40 Wall St on Thursday, January 11 following the delivery of closing arguments in the non-jury civil trial stemming from the lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James against him.

James filed a lawsuit against Trump, his family, and his corporate empire, alleging that he had misled banks and fabricated his financial statements.

Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing, asserting that his financial statements included disclaimers. He has requested the banks to assess the numbers.

Trump has appeared in court twice this week: on Thursday for James' case in New York, and on January 6th in a federal Appeals Court in Washington, DC, where he is arguing for presidential immunity from prosecution in Special Counsel Jack Smith's case.

What did Trump say about attending his trials?

During the press conference, Trump was asked if he intended to attend the E Jean Carroll trial, which is set to begin on Tuesday—the day following the Iowa caucuses.

He declared, "Yeah, I'm going to go to it and I'm going to explain I don't know who the hell she is," adding that Democratic operatives have supported her case.

The trial will determine what Trump owes in defamation damages after a jury concluded last year that Trump sexually abused Carroll.

Without regard to the dates of the presidential primaries or his campaign itinerary, he continued, "I want to go to all of my trials."

"These are all set up by Biden and the Democrats," Trump said, adding "This is their new form of cheating. This is like last time. This is their new form of cheating."

He further continued by adding that “my legal issues, every one of them, everyone — civil and criminal ones — are all set up by Joe Biden. Crooked Joe Biden. This is something that’s never happened in this country, even when you look at this, this is all about Biden."

"This should never have happened. But again, this is sponsored by the Democrats,” Trump said of the New York trial. He pointed to charges against him in Special Counsel Jack Smith's classified records case, to which he pleaded not guilty.

"I just hear where they want to try and exonerate Biden, and he didn't have the Presidential Records Act. And I do. I did nothing wrong. You can't have two tiers of justice in this country,” Trump continued, as per Fox News.

Internet reacts to Trump’s remarks

Trump’s remarks have garnered immense social media attention, with users mocking him for claiming that he wants to go to "all of his trials" to fight allegations.

“Something never said by a former president. EVER!” one user mocked. “Wow. He seems so upset that he’s not by Melania’s side 😂” another user trolled.

"'All of my trials' What a time to be alive," a user trolled while the other one said, “He wants to intimidate the court and make the trials circuses.”

“That is the only way he gets publicity! He just likes the attention!!! And media give him all!” said a user slamming Trump.

“Stop giving this fool all the oxygen!! Of course, he wants to go to all his trials, they’re taxpayer-funded campaign events!” one more said.
