LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Prince liked to wear women’s scents, and was fascinated by perfumes! This is a claim made by his ex-wife Mayte Garcia who is a candle maker and began her endeavor to fund her dog rescue mission.

"He was very big on perfume and so was I. I don't know if a lot of people know this about him, but he always wore women's perfumes instead of men's colognes. He had done that before I even met him," she told People.

On her initiative, Mayte revealed, "I started making them out of desperation as a way of raising money for my dog rescue mission."

"And I got really good at it! And then the first candle I made, eternal love, did really well, but there was a twist — the smell was a perfume he wore," she said.

Prince’s former partner also shared his favorite scent, Dune by Dior.

"He wore Dune all the time, so I got the scent in oil form and added a little smokiness and sweetness to it. He also liked Samsara by Guerlain, and Thierry Mugler's Angel," Mayte said.

Garcia established the charity 'Live 4 Love' in memory of her and Prince's son Amir, who tragically passed away shortly after birth. She disclosed that the best-selling candle on her website is 'Haze,' and the proceeds from its sales are dedicated to supporting the rescue of dogs.

"It smells amazing. It's a smokey sweet scent. And the best part of my candles is that they are made with cocoa wax, so they burn really clean — you can even put the oil on your skin!"

Prince's cause of death still remains a mystery

Prince was discovered in an unresponsive state within an elevator, prompting the dispatch of sheriff's deputies for medical assistance at his residence in Paisley Park Studios, located just outside Minneapolis.

He was declared dead less than 25 minutes later by authorities in Minnesota, reports the outlet. A cause of death has not been determined.

Prince was suffering from flu for several weeks before his death and his private plane also made an emergency landing a few days ago for medical attention.

“It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary, iconic performer, Prince Rogers Nelson, has died at his Paisley Park residence this morning at the age of 57,” stated his publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, in a message to CBS.
