Internet sides with Travis Kelce as talks of hosting 'Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?' reboot surface
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: NFL sensation and Taylor Swift's boyfriend, Travis Kelce, may find himself taking on a new role as his rising stardom could lead him to become the face of a rebooted popular game show, according to a source reporting to USA Today.
The NFL player for the Kansas City Chiefs is in talks to host a revival of the quiz show 'Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?' for Amazon Prime Video.
Travis Kelce might be hosting the new game show
According to USA Today, Kelce is being considered as the potential host of the popular game show.
Variety reports that the revival of the show will feature celebrity guests, unlike the original version, which pitted regular contestants against a panel of young participants.
Kelce, already renowned as an NFL player, has gained further recognition as a household name since his relationship with pop sensation Taylor Swift began.
He has also ventured into acting, making a guest appearance in the short-lived 2020 Showtime comedy 'Moonbase 8,' alongside Fred Armisen. A representative from Amazon has not responded to inquiries from USA TODAY.
'Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?' was co-created by British TV producer Mark Burnett ('Survivor') and premiered in February 2007 on Fox, with comedian-actor Jeff Foxworthy serving as host.
After three seasons of operation, the program made a comeback in 2015. It also had a little stint in syndicated television.
Nickelodeon revived the show in 2019 for one season, with wrestler-turned-actor John Cena serving as the host.
