'This is merely a pause': Ann Wilson announces her cancer diagnosis, postpones Heart's Royal Flush Tour
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Heart lead singer Ann Wilson has revealed her cancer diagnosis.
The popular rock band artist has postponed the ongoing Royal Flush Tour and announced she’d be undergoing treatment.
What did Ann Wilson say in her statement?
Ann Wilson issued a statement on her Instagram account, "I recently underwent an operation to remove something that, as it turns out, was cancerous,"
"The operation was successful & I'm feeling great but my doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and & I've decided to do it," she declared, on Tuesday, July 2.
"And so my doctors are instructing me to take the rest of the year away from the stage in order to fully recover," she said further.
The 74-year-old also updated the fans, “To the ticket buyers, I really do wish we could do these gigs. Please know that I absolutely plan to be back on stage in 2025,” Wilson wrote on her social media.

“My team is getting those details sorted & we’ll let you know the plan as soon as we can.”
“This is merely a pause. I’ve much more to sing. Respectfully, this is the last public statement l’d like to make on the matter,” Wilson concluded.
The singer, who along with her band members celebrated 50 years as a group in 2013, shared with People in 2022, “Back when I started, I didn’t even believe I’d live to be 30. In your early 20s, you just go, ‘I’ll never get old.’ I never dreamed it would go on 50 years. For me, it’s the bomb. When it’s all going right, there’s nothing like it.”
