'Heartbroken' Billy Crystal and wife Janice reveal their home of 46 years burned down in Palisades fire

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Billy Crystal and his wife, Janice Crystal's home of 46 years has been destroyed by the Los Angeles wildfires, the actor confirmed in a statement to People.

Multiple fires burning in Los Angeles County prompted evacuation orders and warnings and destroyed more than 1,300 structures as of Wednesday, January 8, as reported by CBS News.

Billy Crystal's statement read, "Words cannot describe the enormity of the devastation we are witnessing and experiencing. We ache for our friends and neighbors who have also lost their homes and businesses in this tragedy."

"Janice and I lived in our home since 1979. We raised our children and grandchildren here. Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can't be taken away. We are heartbroken of course but with the love of our children and friends we will get through this," he continued.

"We pray for the safety of the firefighters and first responders. The Pacific Palisades is a resilient community of amazing people and we know in time it will rise again. It is our home," Billy concluded. 

The Palisades Fire, which broke out around 10 am on Tuesday, has grown to over 17,000 acres. Currently, several wildfires are burning throughout the Los Angeles area, and most are 0% contained, according to CalFire.

Paris Hilton was left devastated after the Pacific Palisades wildfire destroyed her beloved beachfront house in Malibu. She shared the news on social media on Tuesday, expressing her overwhelming grief over the loss of the house.

She then reflected on the fond memories connected to the house, particularly involving her two children, Phoenix and London. "This home was where we built so many precious memories. It’s where Phoenix took his first steps and where we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories with London," Hilton shared. 

She added, "While the loss is overwhelming, I’m holding onto gratitude that my family is safe. My heart and prayers are going out to every family affected by these fires."

Netizens offered love and support to Billy Crystal after the actor revealed that his home of 46 years had been destroyed in the deadly Los Angeles wildfires.

One wrote, "This is just so devastating to so many. My heart hurts for all of them," and another said, "Sending them so much love and all those who have experienced such tremendous loss."
