LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: On the December 22 episode of 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert', the host Stephen Colbert discussed the Winter Solstice, Colorado's Supreme Court ruling on Donald Trump's candidacy, Nikki Haley's surge in the Republican primary, and the trending topic, that is, Rudy Giuliani's defamation case.

Colbert's comments come after disgraced former mayor Rudy Giuliani reportedly owed $148 million as compensation to two Georgia election workers and has filed for bankruptcy.

Colbert said that Haley surged past the candidate, Ron DeSantis, in Iowa, mentioning that "this is particularly humiliating for him as he has visited all of Iowa's 99 counties over the past year, and the more people meet him, the less they want to vote for him".

Stephen Colbert humorously questions the possibility of a man like Ron DeSantis with a warm and natural smile experiencing a setback.

He contrasted this with the disgraced former mayor, Rudy Giuliani, playfully calling him the Goblin and making a joke about him asking if he can eat a baby, referring to it as "little baby" and adding a playful tone to the remark.

Colbert then touches base on the $148M defamation verdict against Rudy Giuliani.

"Uh I'm sure you all know that he defamed two Georgia election workers and now owes them $148 million. Well yesterday the judge said Rudy must pay it immediately," said Colbert.

He continued, "For that kind of money he's going to have to start selling his organs obviously, not his liver or or the kidneys or the teeth but oh Rudy does have one scheme to raise the money."

'Rudy's going to lose everything'

The episode gets going with Colbert reading out a breaking new.

He shared breaking news about 'Rudy Giuliani filing for bankruptcy' after losing the case. While acknowledging that many people might find satisfaction in this development, Colbert also notes the personal tragedy for Giuliani.

"Rudy's going to lose everything, they're going to take his garbage tree. Christmas is ruined".

As the news says, Rudy Giuliani's bankruptcy filing paperwork unveiled the significant extent of debts faced by the former New York mayor and Trump lawyer.

The Guardian reports that the financial challenges are compounded this week by a $148 million award to two former Georgia election workers.

The $148 million award to two former Georgia election workers was included in Rudy Giuliani's Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing submitted in the southern district of New York on December 21.

Additionally, other sums over $1 million were listed in the bankruptcy filing.
