NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Conservative commentator Megyn Kelly discussed President Joe Biden's growing interest in the border crisis on the February 22 episode of 'The Megyn Kelly Show.'

Kelly was joined by 'Ruthless' hosts Josh Holmes, Michael Duncan, and Josh Ashbrook on her podcast, as she claimed that Biden is considering executive action to stop the rising wave of illegal immigration across the borders of the United States, which highlighted a shift in policy from his administration.

Reports of Joe Biden considering executive action

The incumbent President had maintained for long that he required the support of Congress to solve the border issue, pushing hard for the now-rejected bipartisan Senate bill on immigration reform. But in the face of a worsening situation and rising criticism, he appears to have modified his tone.

According to both The New York Times and CNN, the Biden White House is reportedly considering an executive order to ban illegal migrants from applying for asylum. It would involve the utilization of immigration code 212(F) which allows the President to bar the entry of foreigners deemed “detrimental to the interests of the United States.”

“He’s considering implementing – by executive action, without Congress – many of the same things that President Trump implemented back in 2018 when he tried to block certain migration,” noted the former Fox News anchor.

“Biden and the left criticized that to no end, and now he’s considering using that same provision.”

Why did Joe Biden change his stand?

Kelly believed that the immigration crisis has visibly shaken Biden, as she stated, "President Biden is apparently scared s**tless of the numbers on immigration and how people think he’s handling the job and has now realized he actually can do something about it. It’s obvious that he’s terrified and he’s actually paying attention to the pulse now.”

Her guests agreed with her take, with Ashbrook claiming that the problem that Biden was trying to solve was of his own making. The President had released the 'Proclamation on the Termination of Emergency with Respect to the Southern Border of the United States and Redirection of Funds Diverted to Border Wall Construction' on his first day of office to overturn much of the security measures put in by his predecessor Donald Trump, he stated.

Holmes felt that the move was political, explaining, "He (Biden) doesn’t care a lick about the actual problem. In fact, it’s by design. That is what he said he would do, and that is what he has done. Now he’s got a political problem, and what he cares a lot about is his 33 percent approval rating and the fact that this issue – perhaps more than anything else – is preventing a second term for Joe Biden.”

“It’s too late, and the people know at this point that it would just be a pander,” commented Kelly, adding, "As soon as they re-elect this guy, he’s going to undo it all because, when he did the thing on day one, he said he wanted people to believe the United States was ‘more humane.’ That’s where his heart lies. It’s not in protecting our borders.”
