LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Country musician Elle King was almost on the verge of destroying Bunnie Xo’s "fantasy" of the singer’s father, Rob Schneider.

The ‘America’s Sweetheart’ singer recently appeared on Bunnie Xo’s ‘Dumb Blonde’ podcast where she opened up about the relationship dynamics with her actor father.

Schneider has appeared in movies such as ‘Daddy Daughter Trip’, ‘The Hot Chick’, and 'Deuce Bigalow’ among others.

In an edited clip from the ‘Dumb Blonde’ podcast that is making the rounds on the internet, the ‘Ex’s & Oh’s’ singer recalled her allegedly strained relationship with her father.

Schneider’s topic arose when Bunnie admitted she had a childhood crush on King’s father.

Her enthusiasm was, however, not met with a welcoming fervor as King revealed she often goes “four or five years without talking” to her father, per Toofab.

"I go four or five years without talking to my dad. I put out my record and people finally started talking about my dad and he called me and was like, 'Don't f**king talk about me in the press,'" shared King.

She continued, "If I would ever spend a summer with my dad, it would be on a movie set and I would get lost in the shuffle."

The ‘Lucky’ songstress, who was mostly raised by her mother London King and stepfather Justin Tesa, shared that she did not connect with her father much "until I was much older.”

She further added that she "would get in f**king trouble,” if she "ever messed up a shot" or "was talking" on one of her dad's sets.

King further claimed that her father sent her to “fat camp.” "I was a really, really heavy child. My dad sent me to fat camp,” shared the songstress.

“And then I got in trouble one year. I sprained my ankle and I didn't lose any weight," continued the 35-year-old songstress, and said, "Very toxic and very silly."

Her experience with her father further worsened as she claimed his father is "very anti-tattoos or any form of self-expression different from what he wanted.” Thus, she claimed to have worn sweaters or long-sleeved tops when she was around her father.

Elle King says her father never ‘helped her’

Further into the conversation, the ‘Jersey Giant’ star criticized her father, saying, she disagreed with many of her father’s beliefs.

"I disagree with a lot of the things that he says. You're talking out your a**, you're talking s**t about drag and anti-gay rights and it's like, get f**ked," King said, referencing Schneider’s vocal criticism of the Olympics for including drag queens in the opening ceremony.

She said, "He's just talking out his a**. I disagree, I do not agree with what he says."

King vehemently said, "He never helped me, I never wanted his help. He also didn't have a very good reputation. I don't want to be associated with him. He's just not nice," before exclaiming, "I'm really putting s**t out there!"

King also claimed that her father "forgot about every single birthday.”

It was then Bunnie, who is married to singer and songwriter Jelly Roll, quipped, "You're killing my fantasy of Rob here."

It is, however, unclear whether the relationship between King and Schneider has improved in recent times.

Nevertheless, the duo shared a stage at a New Year's Eve event in Nashville on December 31, 2023.
