LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Robert Downey Jr struck a chord with his fans as he admitted to having taken beta blockers before the Golden Globes.

The star took home his third Golden Globe as he won big at the Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture category for his portrayal of Lewis Strauss in 'Oppenheimer'.

In his characteristic flair, the eloquent actor admitted to taking a stress-reducing drug before attending the 81st Golden Globe Awards held at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.

As the 58-year-old Marvel star graced the stage to accept his award, he shared with his eager fans, "I took a beta blocker, so this is going to be a breeze."

What are beta blockers?

Beta blockers are a group of drugs that are said to reduce stress and anxiety by reducing blood pressure and controlling abnormal heart rhythms.
