HOUSTON, TEXAS: Recently, a terrifying incident involving a United Airlines flight at Houston International Airport sent shockwaves through the internet. The plane in question, skidded off the runway during landing, nearly missing a more tragic mishap.

Another event that shook the internet happened when a small plane crashed near a Nashville highway while trying to land at John C Tune Airport. Engine failure led to the crash, resulting in the loss of all five people on board.

Social media users also mourned another plane crash when a private Beechcraft Bonanza V35 experienced engine failure and crashed into Bayside Waters mobile home park, south of Clearwater on February 1. The crash caused destruction and fires, claiming the lives of multiple victims.

United Airlines flight skids off runway in Houston

According to Fox Business, United Airlines Flight 2477 slid off the runway at George Bush Intercontinental Airport, also known as Houston International Airport, on Friday morning post-landing, as confirmed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

A spokesperson from the FAA informed Fox Business that passengers on board the Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft, which departed from Memphis, Tennessee, were then taken off the plane on the taxiway in Houston and transported to the terminal by bus.

The FAA spokesperson said they're still looking into what happened. They explained, "After landing at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, United Airlines Flight 2477 rolled onto the grass when exiting onto the taxiway around 8 a.m. local time on Friday, March 8."

According to Fox Business, the airline verified that there were 160 passengers and six crew members on board the aircraft.

They added, "We are removing luggage from the aircraft and will work to reunite customers with their belongings as quickly as possible. We are thankful for the actions of our crew to deplane all passengers safely."
