‘Home Improvement’ star Zachery Ty Bryan arrested for DV, his third domestic charge in recent years
MYRTLE BEACH, SOUTH CAROLINA: Zachery Ty Bryan, best known for his role as Brad Taylor on the ’90s sitcom 'Home Improvement', was arrested on Wednesday, January 1, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
The 43-year-old actor faces charges of second-degree domestic violence, according to People.

Police detained Zachery Ty Bryan just before 7.00 pm local time, and he was booked into Horry County Jail on Thursday, January 2.
His bail has been set at $10,000, and he remains in custody.
This incident marks the latest in a series of legal troubles for the former child star, who was arrested twice on DUI charges in 2024 and now faces his third domestic violence-related charge.
Zachery Ty Bryan's history of legal troubles and violence allegations
Zachery Ty Bryan’s legal issues began in 2020 when he was arrested for allegedly strangling his girlfriend, Johnnie Faye Cartwright, in Oregon.
He pled guilty to two misdemeanor charges and was sentenced to 36 months of probation.
Despite the charges, Bryan and Cartwright became engaged in 2021 and now share three children, daughter Kennedy and twins Parker and Sequoia.
In 2023, Bryan faced another domestic violence-related arrest, charged with fourth-degree felony assault, third-degree robbery, and misdemeanor harassment.
He pled guilty to felony assault constituting domestic violence and served a seven-day jail sentence.

Following Zachery Ty Bryan’s 2023 arrest, Johnnie Faye Cartwright asked for privacy for their family, stating, “Trauma can bring struggles in many shapes and forms."
"It’s a horrible situation that’s going to be spun in so many ways. I’ve learned firsthand the truth will never align with what’s been put out there,” she added.
She emphasized the need for respect and healing, particularly for their children, as the family navigates the fallout from Bryan’s repeated legal issues.
"I’ll always want what’s best for the father of my children,” she told US Weekly at the time.

Tim Allen, Zachery Ty Bryan’s on-screen father on 'Home Improvement', shared his thoughts on the actor’s troubled path during a 2023 interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
