WASHINGTON, DC: House Speaker Mike Johnson informed fellow GOP members in a closed-door meeting that the Republican-majority House of Representatives will vote on December 14 to approve the impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden, as reported by Reuters and confirmed by a Republican Congresswoman.

"He just told us that ... Thursday," Representative Lisa McClain told Reuters, confirming the news, leaving after a meeting with the House Speaker at Capitol Hill. Initial reports suggested that the vote would take place on December 13.

The vote comes on the day the House was adjourned for the three-week year-end holiday break starting December 14.

What are the accusations against Joe Biden?

Republican Representative Kelly Armstrong introduced a 14-page resolution on December 7 that would allow the Hosue to vote to approve the probe.

The House Republicans have accused the President and his family of improperly benefiting from policy decisions during his term as Vice President under Barack Obama from 2009 to 2017.

The Republican-controlled House has also alleged the US Department of Justice of inappropriate interference in an investigation into the President's businessman son, Hunter Biden who is currently indicted on federal tax evasion charges.

However, the House has not produced any evidence of the President's involvement in his son's businesses during his vice presidency. The first hearing on the impeachment inquiry in September was live by the House Oversight Committee.

Nevertheless, the chances of Biden getting impeached are unlikely even if the House votes in favor of it, as the Democrats still hold a slim majority in the Senate.

Internet reacts to House's decision to vote on impeachment inquiry against Joe Biden

For the Internet, the GOP-controlled House decision to launch an impeachment inquiry against the President is not that exciting. Many suggested that the Republicans voting without any substantial evidence is a waste of time and money.

One user said, "This is the very definition of a wild goose chase."

Another user stated, "Only Republicans would vote for an impeachment inquiry with less than zero evidence."

"With no evidence … seems Like a great use of time and money," remarked a third user.

A fourth user added referring to the House leaving DC for vacation, "It's like, drop a bomb then conveniently leave town for a few weeks! Still, no proof of anything."

"What a total waste of time. They have nothing. It's all a game and distraction," said one user.

Another also opined the same, "And then the House will go on vacation without doing the needed legislating."

"What evidence are they planning to present? Bring in a medium and a Ouija board and hope something pops up?" asked another user.
