LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: Wrestling star Kurtis 'Mad Kurt' Chapman died at the age of 26. His shocking demise was announced by Revolution Pro over X. “We, at Revolution Pro Wrestling, are absolutely heartbroken to report the loss of our dear friend Kurtis Chapman,” the statement read.

It continued, “We watched Kurtis grow from a child to a young man who loved professional wrestling and continued to excel in all aspects of his life. One of the most gifted technical wrestlers, charismatic characters and magnetic personalities. He will never be forgotten.”

Success at an early age for Kurtis 'Mad Kurt' Chapman 

The sensational sportsman started early as a teenager in 2014 and was recognized for his "light-hearted style," as per The Daily Mirror.

He participated in ‘Progress Wrestling, Over the Top Wrestling, and Game Changer Wrestling,’ reported Bleacher Report.

During his association with Revolution Pro Wrestling, Chapman won the Undisputed British Cruiserweight Championship in 2017 and held on to it for 154 days.

The outlet reports that he had not participated in any wrestling match since June when he successfully defended the Resurgence Arthouse title at a show in Leicester, England, reports TMZ.



 

Tributes pour in for Kurtis 'Mad Kurt' Chapman

Several wrestling promotions paid tribute to the young star, including ATTACK! Pro Wrestling which said, "Rest in peace, Kurtis."

Meanwhile, TNT Extreme Wrestling wrote on X, "Everyone at TNT extends their deepest condolences to the loved ones of Kurtis Chapman, better known as Mad Kurt. Pro wrestler Karen Glennon, popularly called 'Session Moth Martina', wrote on X, "Genuinely gutted. We had some laugh over the years Mad Kurt and I'm not sorry I stiffed you in the jaw you will be missed." Chris Wareing, too, shared on X saying, "There'll never be another one like Mad Kurt."

Ex-WWE superstar Matt Cardona said, "RIP Mad Kurt. Had such an entertaining yet hard-hitting match with him last year in the UK. I thought he was just some internet troll but he gained my respect that night."
