Tom Wilkinson: Actor best known for his performance in 'The Full Monty' and 'Michael Clayton' dies at 75
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: Actor Tom Wilkinson died at his residence surrounded by his loved ones, his wife and family confirmed in a statement. “The family asks for privacy at this time,” the statement read.
The star has been part of 130 films and TV credits and was widely remembered for his ease in portraying period drama.
Some of his notable works include 1995's ‘Sense and Sensibility’ and 2013's ‘Belle.’ Tom was also admired for his performance in criminal masterminds flicks like 'Rush Hour' starring Jackie Chan in 1998, and Guy Ritchie's ‘RocknRolla’ in 2008.

Georgoe Clooney remembers 'elegant' Tom Wilkinson
George Clooney paid his tribute to co-actor from 2007 legal thriller ‘Michael Clayton', calling him “the epitome of elegance.'
He told Variety, "Tom made every project better. Made every actor better. He was the epitome of elegance and he will be dearly missed by all of us."
Tom Wilkinson received six Bafta nominations in total as well as two Oscar nominations for ‘Michael Clayton’ and ‘In The Bedroom,’ as per BBC.
The 75-year-old won an Emmy for playing US political figure Benjamin Franklin in the 2008 mini-series ‘John Adams’ and an Emmy nomination as John F Kennedy's father Joe in ‘The Kennedys.’
Moreover, Wilkinson portrayed President Lyndon B Johnson in 2014's 'Selma', and played a character in ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ and ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring.’
Tributes pour in for Tom Wilkinson
Robert Carlyle, Wilkinson's co-star from ‘The Full Monty,’ referred to him as "a huge performer, a real titan of an actor, and one of the greats of not only his, but of any generation."
US filmmaker Scott Derrickson said Wilkinson was "an amazing talent" and shared about his surprise kiss on the lips on the set of ‘The Exorcism of Emily Rose.’
British actor Phil Davis called him "powerful and delicate and hugely intelligent - one of the very best" on X. In an earlier interview, Wilkison said, "For the first time in my life, I started doing something I knew how to do," he said.
"I realised it wasn't necessarily just these southern middle-class types that got to be actors; it could possibly be people like me. And once I knew, I never changed my mind," he added.
