SAN FERNANDO VALLEY, CALIFORNIA: Don Toliver found himself in trouble as he was arrested in California on Tuesday, April 9.

The 29-year-old singer was pulled over in the San Fernando Valley in Southern California for allegedly speeding, reported TMZ.

Why was Don Toliver not taken to jail?

Toliver who was arrested under suspicion of a DUI, but was not taken to jail even after police observed signs of impairment.

He was reportedly cited and was released into the custody of a passenger in the vehicle who was sober and with him at the time.

Just weeks before his arrest, the rapper and singer Kali Uchis welcomed their first baby together.

In January, the 30-year-old singer who appeared in the music video for 'Tu Corazon Es Mio' with Toliver announced the news of her pregnancy.

On March 14, the duo took to Instagram to reveal in a joint statement that they welcomed a baby boy.

"You are everything we could have hoped for & more. Thank you God for our beautiful healthy baby boy, & thank you all for the Good energy along the way," read the caption.

"May our home & your homes forever be blessed with peace, happiness & health," the couple captioned the clip which featured videos of their baby's birth and his days with them.

Toliver and the 'Moonlight' singer are yet to reveal the date of the little boy's birth or his name.

After Toliver was released in the field following his arrest, netizens reacted to the rapper not being taken to jail.
