LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hugh Jackman is attempting to maintain a cheery demeanor, but insiders revealed that he is experiencing a midlife crisis and feels lost in the absence of his estranged wife Deborra-Lee Furness.

Jackman and Furness parted ways a few months back with their divorce, after 27 years of marriage. Fans continue to think, however, that the 'Wolverine' star is finding it difficult to adjust to their separation.

The Hollywood star's social media posts, including awkward selfies, cryptic comments, and a close-up of the floor, have left fans and insiders perplexed.

Hugh Jackman 'trying to get attention' after Deborra-Lee Furness split

Many expressed concern over actor Hugh Jackman's mental health and well-being after witnessing his latest Instagram posts. Fans began to worry that Jackman wasn't performing to his full potential when he posted a slew of bizarre images that, on the surface, appeared innocent.

Amid all the rumors, an insider revealed to In Touch Weekly, "He’s clearly trying to get attention, but it’s coming off as strange and unprofessional. If Deb were around, she’d never let him embarrass himself this way!"

The source went on, "He tells people he’s thriving — and to his credit he has managed to get out there and enjoy a few dates and have plenty of fun — but his behavior is still pretty odd and erratic these days."

"Between the self-obsessed social media posts and the fact that he’s started partying with people half his age, it’s sounding alarm bells for a lot of his old friends," the insider continued.

Many were equally perplexed when the 'Greatest Showman' actor was seen hopping along with Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively to watch Taylor Swift support her boyfriend, football player Travis Kelce.

An insider said, "He doesn’t seem to have the time for his old crowd and they feel they’ve been ditched right along with Deb. They try to make plans with him but he’s never got the time — except he always has time for people like Ryan Reynolds. It’s insulting!"

Hugh Jackman has 'been all over the place and acting very scattered' since split

According to insiders, the 55-year-old Australian actor's divorce from his 68-year-old producer wife seems to be the primary cause of the issue. They divorced last summer, having been together for 27 years and having two adult children.

Since then, Hugh has "been all over the place," a source claimed, citing the actor's inconsistent social media posts as a "worrying" indicator that he's experiencing a midlife crisis.

Furness, according to sources, was what kept him together. "Everyone knows she kept him on the straight and narrow. Now the concern is that he’s struggling a lot more than he’s letting on!" the insider said.

The source further said, "Not to mention he’s dropped a ton of weight and is acting very scattered. His friends can’t help worrying he’s not doing as well as he’s letting on!"

Sources previously claimed Hugh Jackman 'doing good and focusing on work'

In the midst of all the rumors, a close associate of Hugh Jackman has previously reassured fans that the actor is doing fine and is currently looking forward to the premiere of 'Deadpool & Wolverine.'

Despite splitting from the actress and producer in September 2023, an insider close to Jackman revealed to Daily Mail that the actor has no interest in dating or starting his love at this time.

The insider said, "Hugh is aware of his fans and their concern for his well-being, but he is good."

The source went on to say that Jackman is thrilled to be playing 'Deadpool' and returning to his favorite role as Wolverine. "That’s where most of his focus is going – on work and being present for that."

Regarding the 'Wolverine' star's love life, the source added: "When it comes to his love life, he thinks it is funny that so many people want to know all about it. He will get there again."

"It isn’t a priority, but if something materialized, he would make it a priority. But he is healthy and happy, and that is something he cherishes right now."
